Ummm...NO

I earned my 1k status.

Do you have the Chase Club card? It waives the 4 UA metal segments. Others might too but I know the Club Chase CC does.

Nope.

No changes to anything related to United. I am fairly certain it is just a normal weekend display glitch.

Added: Just checked again and it is back to correctly displaying 4 of 4. All my recent activity is back also.
Weekend United.com nonsense started early....must be the holiday weekend. LOL

Anyone noticed crazy award pricing issues when changing an existing award ticket? I have an award ticket back to LUX currently booked in economy saver and I'm trying to change the return segments to a business saver award. The increase in miles should only be 27,500, but when I try to make the change online, it's the price change is coming out as an additional 147,500 miles.

Has anyone experienced this lately?

Noticed a new one today...at least for me.

Under premiere status qualification section on the home page, four flight segment minimum now shows 0/waived.

I have WAY over 4 UA/UAX segments, and I don't think I qualify for any waiver for this.

All my most recent activity is gone from my home page as well....maybe they are starting the holiday weekend early.

I notice this glitch when I'm not logged in "all the way." There's some halfway state between being logged in and logged out that causes some strange behavior like this. Just log out and back in again and you'll see it clears itself up.

Oddity on award bookings?

If this was mentioned upstream, I missed it. But, have been doing some searches for award flights recently and noticed what seems to me to be an oddity.

I have been looking for business awards that include a domestic segment and an international segment. What I noticed is that if a saver business award is available the domestic segment says it will book into economy (XN), but the standard award will book into first. The other odd thing is that it will show a meal service for the domestic segment, rather than saying food for purchase. Now, I have only looked a couple of routes, but this happens consistently on every single set of flights that shows saver business availability.

Is this a glitch, or is it now normal for saver business awards to book into ecomony for domestic legs?

For Saver Business, if no Domestic Saver F is available but Saver Economy is, then X/XN will be booked for the domestic segment. If I/IN on the domestic leg is available, then Domestic Saver F can be booked. But it is not uncommon for the domestic segment not to have Saver F inventory. This is standard result (called a mixed cabin award) .
You can waitlist for I/IN on the domestic segment.

As for Standard award, Domestic Standard F award space is much more commonly available.

Found yet another weird one. Searching for award travel and it returns an itinerary with incorrect data inside the search results.

Shows PEK to BKK in the header, but then shows ORD->ZRH in the detail section...with incorrect dates as well. (ORD->ZRH is the first leg).

Really confused me at first as I thought it was trying to sell a mis-connect as indicated by the dates. Finally realized it is more likely just a display issue.

Called the (fake) 1K desk to book it.

Thanks, Wine. As always, a font of knowledge.

I guess what had me confused is that the economy award column shows Economy, Meals for Purchase. The saver business column shows Economy, Dinner. The standard business column shows First, Dinner. They don't actually book you into Economy, but still give you a meal, do they?

No
Economy is economy no matter how you book. 1K/GS in economy get comp'ed a food & drink item and an occasional FA will take pity on an irrop passagner but otherwise a Standard does not get you food is the rest of economy is not getting food.

Multi-City award booking/searching not avail

Hi folks- for the past week+ i have been unable to search for let alone book a multi-city trip for two basic destinations for this fall. I also have tried calling UA and they agree something is wrong...

Looking to go NYC - NRT Sept 4 (also used EWR instead of NYC), NRT - SFO Sept 14. Tried all award tickets even economy and no luck- get an error. I CAN book segment to segment each one way, just not under a multi-city search. Calling in they can see the availability and can book it on their side, but the web site is not showing this online.

All three reps I've spoken with have said they'd enter a 'ticket' to report it- still nothing.

Anyone else having this issue? Doesnt seem to be browser related as ive done both Chrome, IE, and even Edge. Or am i missing something and typically cant do am award ticket like this....seems like a basic request...

PVDtoDEL May 31, 2016 2:52 pm

The website has bugs. There are a lot of bugs, so don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon. If phone agents have access to the relevant inventory, then I'd recommend just booking that way.

LesPaul30 May 31, 2016 2:57 pm

Thanks for the response... Thats a bummer.. Was hoping to browse around a bit to find something thats fun to take to NRT and back, etc.. Dont want to have the agents on the phone while i search around since the return flight seems to fluctuate on miles needed for first from 80k vs 40k nrt-sfo

There are plenty of online ways to look at award inventory, e.g. ExpertFlyer/KVS and NH tool. Figure out what flights you want and then call them up to book.

I've tried half a dozen times this morning to book a simple RDU-ORD one-way on UAL.com on my laptop and kept getting this:

Error
