Consolidated: Is united.com or parts of it down?

Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

Everything seems broken these days.
Does anyone know of a way around this error when changing an award other than calling in? Pretend I'm too shy to talk to a human. Mobile website or app? Some secret version of the old site? PM is OK if you know what I'm really trying to do.

Mobile website flight status broken

Looks like someone broke the Flight Status search on the mobile website.

Searching for flights between city pairs is not showing all flights. eg, SFO-LAX on Monday shows 4 flights when there are actually ~14. SFO-PHX shows only 1 of the 4 flights.

Searching by flight number does work as expected, as does using the App (Android).

I login to my account. Click on Manage Reservation. It makes me login again. Then takes me to my reservation. Every. Single. Time. Also the "remember me" box seems to have a half life of approximately 12 seconds before it makes me login again.

Then I try to change an award reservation and the stupid thing errors out.

I am still having issues for over a week with the multi-city mode where it defaults to the highest fares for each segment. Luckily, I had priced out an itinerary and printed it 2 weeks ago when I had kept track of the normal range of prices for my proposed trip. It originally costed out close to $2000 including segments in business first on the PS service and first on some others. Since last week, it costed out at around $4,500 and oddly enough, would change fares when asking it to search the same trip, with the one difference being seeking economy ticket or first class ticket (and seeing the columns with the other options). I then had the idea to just buy 2 roundtrip tickets to the same destinations since I was still starting and returning to LAX. It costed out at around $2,500 so that was getting me closer to where I was before. I called Mileage Plus to confirm that I could buy 2 round trips and not be violating any rules. I then called .com support to check in about the problem and was told that I might not even be seeing the lowest price even on a roundtrip!! This person was kind enough to cost out my original trip using the lowest available fares that this person could find in their system as being available and not displaying properly on the website. I was able to get close the the original $2,000. It is really frustrating that the average person would never know that the fares being displayed are not the "lowest available" and without Expert Mode working, you could not see the lower fare buckets being available, but not given as an option. I was really happy to have such a nice .com agent to assist me who was aware of the problem.

I've been having that issue too. Sometimes I'll login, go look at a reservation, then go to look at a second one and it'll require another login

I've been a way for a while and now when I look at flights today I received a "Cannot process your request, Call ###" about 10 times today during basic and multi-city searches. My friend receives the same message. Terrible.

Just booked 4 domestic round trips.
on only 2 of them I received the booking confirmation email
for none I received the invoice email

but all show as ticketed in "manage reservations"

BTW I am still not getting any emailed boarding passes thru the app. figured out that the "_" in my email suddenly causes problems.

Just an update that this seems to be happening on every single award ticket I purchase for myself, but not revenue tickets. Wants to charge me for E+ seating. Agents are able to manually force it free of charge, but initially the system wants to charge them as well.

MP desk suggested it could be a name matching issue. But I've used the same name that's been saved in my profile for years, and 2016 is the first year this has been an issue (was PremG last few years).

Any thoughts?

I can't buy any tickets on the United site. I get an error message as soon as I select the first leg of my trip. This happens for several simple round trip purchases and it has been happening for 1 week plus.

I might have a solution to your problem because it happens to me.
Basically, shut down your whole browser and then start it up again with only the united site. Fingers crossed that this will help you.

I'm probably about to jinx this but I think United *may* have (partially) fixed one of the biggest issues I had with their new website. I have complained since day 1 (beta) that the website would not remember the location and language set in the browser cookie for the website and would either a) default to the location of your IP address and change the language; or b) bring up the damn pop-up asking you for location and language.

Since I travel to a different country just about every single week and I am constantly booking tickets (or checking the status of existing reservations so I can be on top of any changes, mishaps, etc.), this bug annoyed me to no end.

Just yesterday I was on United.com where it defaulted yet again to Brazil | Portuguese (as I'm currently in GRU). All week I have been changing it to US | English from the home page and every time I start the browser again it would go back to Brazil.

While I was drilled down on the Manage Reservations page I decided to change to US | English and on this page there was a "remember my settings" check box. I clicked that. Since yesterday United.com has been coming up as United States | English. FINALLY!!!!!!

I said (partially) above because there are some bugs with this. If I look at a reservation and click on the "View Mileage Earning" link it brings the page up in Spanish and moves me to the Canary Islands. No joke. But all the main pages are in US | English.

Typical incompetent UA IT staff...tries to fix something and breaks a few other things. This is a step in the right direction but they can't even implement this correctly.

Another stupid website issue. This one I haven't seen before. Absolutely no options appear in the search results column for "lowest fare". It is "not available".

You have to wonder how much money United is leaving on the table every day due to their IT incompetence.

I don't know exactly what you're searching, but if the lowest available Economy fare happens to be flexible then what you see is the intended website behavior.
