Indeed, don't mean to jump on anyone. I just don't want to look at anything as being "good" right now, when it isn't. There's a lot to be fixed. I can stand to have new rules, as long as I know what the rules are, and everyone is able to follow them. I do not like it when we're told one thing, it works a different way, and the front line folks don't know which way is right or which end is up. And in no way am I upset with the UA Insider team. They have done a remarkable job under the circumstances. I also fully believe they have been temporarily silenced while some milestones are set and fixes are validated, then we will hear about it.
Again, not picking on any of my fellow FTers.

You are not the only one this is happening to...one of my Assistant Directors (a GS to boot) posted a number a very mellow observations about the merge citing experiences from the DL/NW merge for whom he worked for at the time...and suggested some very inexpensive/no expense fixes that might help the process...They disappeared within 24 hours of posting! He had snail-mailed these to UA corporate a couple of weeks before and heard nothing except from our UA sales rep. offering comp. certs for the problems we had experienced
He was not looking for compensation...rather he was offering his 40 years experience as an airline executive and as a UA flyer (2-3K per year)
As Mrs. 1KPath commented..."as soon as a lawyer controls an organization, logic and experience are immediately discounted... this is rapidly disseminated to the rest of the organization resulting in the the attitude that he/she (the lawyer executive) knows best in spite of having gone to only a trade school...AKA law school"...and this from a J.D.,Ph.D. law school professor and Associate Dean who teaches business law! Her mantra has always been "in successful businesses, lawyers are support staff!"

Super weird upgrade experience today flying a LAX-BOS transcon.
- Tried to upgrade myself with RPU weeks before flight. Waitlisted. Lots of F availability until 2 days before flight, suddenly F cabin fills
up completely. Upgrades getting processed before me at a window cutoff time or did a lot of seats suddenly sell? Or a system glitch that explains what happened later? Who knows.
Any other theories?

I flew SFO-IAD next day return twice in 2 weeks, in February. All four flights had ~8-9 seats in F open for weeks until about 2 days before the flight, then they suddenly filled up. This was pre-merger, so GS and 1K were clearing UG's at 120 and 100 hrs, well ahead of 2 days prior to the flight. Yet, I watched both the F and E seats and it didn't seem that anyone was moving en masse from E to F at those windows, nor afterward.
Then again, I don't have a lot of visibility into what has changed between then and now.

MCT Time Bug ?
I just discovered that the new site will show flight options (at least in this case for an award booking) that can't be ticketed.
In this case, I found a domestic connection at LAX with a 37 minute layover. EF shows a 40 minute domestic-domestic MCT for LAX for widebodies, but a general 30 minute connection time for all of these. I'm wondering if there's some logic that's misinterpreting the MCT logic?
I was trying to change an award flight that was booked. I just get an error when I actually proceed to ticket it.

Sure, that makes sense for F filling up rapidly, but not for it equally rapidly draining *during the boarding process*. That's what I'm trying to speculate on...

This has probably been posted...
but they charge non-elites for E+ on p.s. flights when E+ is all that is offered. $99 to be exact, and since there is no way to de-select a seat, you have to start completely over (or pay).

I don't think that's true. It seemed so improbable that I just tried a dummy booking without logging in and there was no additional charge to select a seat. It was roundtrip JFK-LAX-JFK on ps flights.

Truth in reporting delays. ?
Yesterday my flight was delayed. We pushed from the gate ontime but sat on the tarmac. The delay was announced by the Captain as still having to complete weight and balance paperwork/calculations. When I landed looked at the UA website to see the reason given. The website said ATC. This does not seem right.

PMCO's site would regularly but randomly attempt to charge me for ELR seats as a CO Plat.
I'm guessing the bug is sporadic, as there seem to be tons of lingering, sometimes difficult-to-reproduce bugs on CO.sux dba UA.bomb which have been there for years, and which don't have to do directly with the integration.

Seat Assignments Cleared
After last night's system update, seat assignments on about 8 or so future segments have been "--"d out. Almost none of these segments were in conjunction with a schedule or equipment change, and in 6 of these cases, I am unable to select a new seat. When attempting to select a seat on these segments, in a couple of cases the map is unavailable; in the others, the map is available, but after successfully selecting a seat and choosing "continue", my seat assignment remains "--" on the res.
As was reported in another thread begun today, I also have a (PN) buy-up segment now reading "Coach" with no seat map.

Yes, this has happened to me too. I have a reservation for May with 4 legs to it. On one of the legs, ORD-LGA, my previous seat assignment is gone and the seat map is unavailable. On the other legs everything is fine.

I had a schedule change (well, it was really an equipment and flight number change, the schedule is still the same) happen last night. Went from a 757-200 to a 737-800. However, after accepting the schedule change the *original* flight number and 757-200 are showing in my reservation. When the seat map comes up it's still a 757-200 seat map.
There's a complete disconnect between confirming the schedule changes and the reservation being updated. My guess is United did not plan for this and now they have several million records out of sync. This is a huge nightmare for them.
Until the logic to update the itinerary/record behind the scenes is fixed I think we're all in the same boat of not being able to select seat assignments and have them stick.
Also - when doing a new revenue ticket search for my city pairs the original flight number and equipment come up in the search but the new flight number does not.
Something has gone completely wrong at United again last night and they dug themselves into a hole deeper than they were I believe.
Ouch!

Once again they create their own mess. They make it worse for their customers in the process too because this will be an issue that results in heavier calls.
Whoever in charge of IT at COdbaUA should be fired. The problems are only escalating
25-35 minute hold times on the 1K line. FYI

Last Night's upgrade
Seat maps and flights on the web site that the Agents cannot see seem to still a problem. Booked direct flight ORD-SFO and after the ticket was issued the return flight was SFO-SAN-ORD. When I called the flight didn't exist. The agent last night "fixed" it all, but couldn't assign seats. I'm going to avoid booking anything else till Monday, the site is clearly hosed, and the call center is slammed.
