I applied online on January 4, had my interview in Seattle on January 13, and received my card in the mail on January 20. Super impressed! (only bummer is Seattle doesn't have an iris scanner)

Look forward to testing this guy out soon...

But there was also no expired "come get your registered mail" card so I'm hoping they're processing alphabetically by last name or something.

I'm still waiting. My spouse got the new card and my spouse applied later than me. I called up Nexus and they told me to wait 2 weeks and call them back if it doesn't show up.

Haven't received mine either and I did the on-line update as soon as I got the letter in the fall...........I do know other people who have received them.

The website says to contact them if you haven't received it by March

Where does it say that? I logged into my GOES account and I see no mention.

IC. From the main site. Thx.

However, there is a caveat. If you don't activate your card within 30 days (who knows when the 30 days starts), both your old and new Nexus card is void. In otherwords, if your card is MIA or you have not received it, you'll run into problems. That's why I was told to check back within 2 weeks.

Not here either.

Well in case anyone else here is looking to set up an appointment inCalgary - I just got a call from Nexus. As it turns out, their appointment book really IS completely booked up through to April!! - the online apointment schedule is not wrong. Apparently, due to the ongoing blip in their online appointment scheduler, now that the problem is resolved they have to deal with a huge backlog of requested appointments, hence everything is booked up until early April.

I've noticed that Calgary/YYC's Nexus scheduling is finally up - but nothing seems to be available until April. Does anyone here know if the 3 month waittime is the norm? I seem to be able to find availability in other centres even within the same week...

Has anyone been able to get to the GOES site for the last few days - I'm trying to validate my address information as I haven't received my new card yet...

Used with TSA

Had success with the TSA for the first time at FLL accepting the NEXUS card as ID. It was looking like I was going to be refused until I mentioned that it was the new card with the hologram on it... TSA replied well I've never seen one before but I guess I trust you....

Everyone keep trying to use the cards. Maybe someday The left hand of Homeland secuirty will know what the right hand is doing.

YYZ T1 now asking to see the card

I mentioned a while ago that I had never been asked for my card in T1 of YYZ, though I was asked in T3 on a December trip. Now there is a sign taped to the terminals in T1 saying be prepared to show your BP, blue card, your Nexus printed receipt, and your Nexus card on the way out. I don't think the fellow recognized the new card though. I had my stack of stuff ready including my BP and passport, and he took the Nexus printout and blue card from my hand and said "I need your Nexus card." I said "right there." He repeated "you need to show me your Nexus card." I said "I'm handing it to you" and then he took it (in it's little don't-let-villains-read-the-RFID-wrapper) and did whatever he needed to do then gave it back. He also stamped my BP which at least a while ago they weren't doing for Nexus people so you could arrive at the gate with an unstamped BP, confusing the GAs.

I travelled through T1 YYZ on New Years day into the US and saw the sign that you should show your Nexus card, but I was never asked as I passed through. The agent just took the customs card and receipt, and handed me back the boarding pass (unstamped). As is always the case for me, it is really hit or miss whether the pass gets stamped. Never had a problem at the gate with an unstamped BP.

And speaking of cards, still waiting for my new card here in Cincinnati. Glad to hear people in the US are starting to get them though.

Is it true that you can subsitute NEXUS for a Passport at Land/Water crossings? (i.e. not Air?)

BlondeBomber Jan 26, 2009 8:18 pm

NEXUS is never a substitute for a passport (I always carry both) and you can only use NEXUS at a very limited number of land crossings anyway.
