Hmm, does anyone know if it considered legal identification in Canada? I had to go the bank last week and they asked me for two pieces, tried to give him the Nexus card. <It was refused> :D

I just checked my old NEXUS card (which I've had for a few years now) and there is no indication of the issuing country. Perhaps the cards have gone through a few revisions over the last few years.

Card activation on GOES is down due to technical difficulties. They hope to have it fixed by January 5...I guess I will put my shiny new NEXUS card in the drawer for the next few days and hope I don't forget about it.

I've talked to a particularily friendly Canadian Customs agent about this in YYZ - it seems all the cards are issued by the US. I guess then only the Americans need to buy the new machines. With these new cards I guess it will take longer to get your inital card, since the old one could be printed off right in the Nexus office I wonder if you`ll get some kind of paper slip (like when replacing your driver's license) until the actual card arrives.

Applied on-line today. What an exercise! But I'm told it's worth it.

The early 2008 cards has them on the front. Never scanned the late 2006 or late 2002 cards and don't remember if they had that info on them.

If you fly into YVR around 1pm (when several flights from Asia arrive) or YYZ in the late afternoon, you'll want to kiss your membership card.
Actually, I remember landing at YYZ once and the customs hall was full, including about 30-40 FAs and pilots in their priority line. I think there was a line up of 2 people at Nexus. ^ |

That is GREAT to hear! Nothing can spoil an otherwise uneventful trip like a Customs three-ring circus. Thank you both.
