Renewed April 25. Expiration is this October. No response yet. Traveled to western Europe, Hong Kong, and Australia so nothing that should cause any issues. |

That lasted for the one flight. My flight last month didn't show Pre anymore. I'm waiting now for 3 months for my renewal. I re-applied after my GE expired.
When I was in college, I interned with the Congresswoman in my district. I just sent my current member of Congress my details. As I recall, your elected officials can and will pressure a local/state/federal agency. Who knows, maybe it will help. dh When it comes to those who apply for GE before their GE membership expires, they generally do routinely get PreCheck after their GE membership expires for at least six months after the GE membership expires, as long as they continue to use the same number in the KTN field as before the expiration. Since you fit into the first group above, I would expect that PreCheck would not be common for you. For those who fit into the second group above, I would expect that PreCheck would be common. |
I applied for renewal (expired last year) on 4/19.
On 5/15, emailed them and was told it's still pending On 5/30, visited the enrollment center at the airport after an international trip - still pending Today 7/9 (day 81) I called 877-227-5511 (#6/#1/#4/#0) and after several tries got to speak with a live person, and requested to escalate the application. He confirmed that it was more than 11 weeks, checked the info, said he "can see it's in the final stages" - whatever that means, and that there are no issues with it. Then he escalated it. The email he sent says: Current wait times for resolution is 3-4 weeks. We will contact you via this incident number once the request has been processed. |
Applied for renewal on 28 March 2019 for GE set to expire in May 2019.
Received approval (no interview) on 9 July 2019. Total waiting time of 103 days. Nothing unusual in my application. My understanding is they are still backlogged from the government shutdown. |

This second queue is overwhelmed by the reallocation of resources (officers) to the southern border. The shutdown is long past, but the lack of people at GE approval/processing centers lingers. |
I had both a change in employment and a change in residence and my application got approved in about five days (no interview). That said, I applied about two weeks ago, so I'm wondering if they're acknowledging more recent applications right away, while still trying to pick there way through the backlog of applications from Feb - June. Also wonder if there's any relation to your location and the office your application is assigned too - maybe some are more backlogged than others?

Mine expires in September. Also, not sure how assignments work either - just a suggestion based on how wonky things seem to be. I live in Atlanta, and all of my Global Entry related activities have been fairly straight forward and quick.

Another data point, as I recently reapplied...
Took just over 4 days from submission to approval (no interview). Pretty impressed! |
I am still waiting, reapplied 4/15 (I had expired 3/21). I have been to Vietnam and Cuba since I first enrolled. I still have the nice little hour glass next to “wait for conditional approval” LOL My own fault for letting myself expire. It stinks but it could be worse. Hopefully the wait is coming to an end soon. :) |

I believe that there is a queue for applications which have some flag - change in employment, home, passport, etc. This second queue is overwhelmed by the reallocation of resources (officers) to the southern border. The shutdown is long past, but the lack of people at GE approval/processing centers lingers. |

OK, perhaps I shouldn't have been so hasty in saying "nothing unusual". I did have a change in job, moved to a new city, and renewed my passport. None of those things strike me as particularly unusual but perhaps they are cause for further inquiry. Oh, and the application was processed by a processing center that is near my *old* home.

Considering my work status and how long I’d been living at my present address were two of the main questions at my interview I’d say those are important. Why I don’t know but I’d agree moving or changing jobs are not that unusual. |
Mrs. Xyzzy's GE expired a few weeks ag:eek:. We realised the day after expiry. She renewed about a week after expiry (the system treated this as a renewal and did NOT make her start from scratch) and when we checked on her status three days later found that she had apparently been approved with no interview required.
