Absolutely but I’d kind of like it resolved before August/September 2020. 😀 All kidding aside it is good that they build in a six month buffer......just in case. Thanks for the reminder.

I applied for a renewal on April 13, 2019, and when I flew back into the US from Istanbul last week, it was still not approved. I was directed by one of the immigration officials to the Global Entry desk in immigration, where the agent was not busy. She checked and told me that it was still "pending", and that with so many DHS agents being called to the border, they have been informed that a 5-month timeframe for renewal approval is the "norm". Who would ever have imagined that a renewal would take 5 months when it is just straightforward?

leavedacannoli Jul 15, 2019 2:38 pm

Except that a 5 month delay is not the norm - it's random. Some are getting it within 2 weeks.

I recently applied for a renewal, about 6 months before the previous GE was due to expire and received the renewal within a couple of weeks.

The new card arrived in the mail before I even bothered to check the web site to see if there was any message about the renewal application.

No interview needed and AMEX paid for it. About as painless as it gets.

I hope to eventually update with good news.
Some time between 7/9 and 7/12 they changed the average wait time to 98 days (14 weeks). So, it went something like from 9 weeks to 11 weeks to now 14 weeks.
Currently, the site says "up to 100 days" for GE renewal.
I will make sure to give them a call when I hit 101 days on 7/29.

When I was in college, I interned with the Congresswoman in my district. I just sent my current member of Congress my details. As I recall, your elected officials can and will pressure a local/state/federal agency. Who knows, maybe it will help.

My recent outbound flight had me in the slow line.
My return flight had TSA Pre written on my BP.

When I went to check the status on the website, the color changed to Gold, but still said Pending? This left me confused. How'd I get Pre on my return flight, but the website still shows pending.

Is the left hand talking to the right hand? Is there a lag? Did my Member of Congress e mail help?

Your age perhaps. Age-related PreCheck happens at times, and perhaps more so if it was on an award ticket from an account holder with trusted traveler program status of sort at time of booking.

I applied for renewal April 4 (3 months before expiration). I've been waiting earnestly and quietly wondering if the Pending status would ever change.
Thankfully, I found this forum - which I believe is the ONLY true gauge of the wait time. Yesterday afternoon, I received an email from ttp-no-reply
which informed me of Application status change. My Dashboard now says "Conditionally Approved" Still gold (not Green) But hey, Woo-hoo!!

Sadly, next interview appointment available is October 2 for my airport - but I will certainly check every time I am there until then.

Thanks to all of you for giving me back some of my sanity.
103 days for me + interview.

my first post - hope I did it right.

Welcome to FT.

Check daily and frequently. Cancellation occurs more often than you think. Usually you will find something suitable in less than a week.

Don't forget that since you applied to renew your Global Entry membership before it expired, you will continue to receive Global Entry benefits, pending final approval, for up to six month after the original expiration date.

In addition, if you have any upcoming international travel, Enrollment on Arrival is a viable option.

I renewed last year. Week or so ago, I realized the card has an expiration date and thus my card is expired. Were they supposed to send me a new card?
