Have there been any rumors or reports of the 365 day window for the Conditional Approval appointments being extended? Enrollment centers aren't taking appointments and many trips being cancelled due to COVID-19.

Long wait
Renewal just came through 4/3; no interview. Renewed on August 23. 223 days.
|
Applied April 8th (renewal). Approved for five more years within 4 hours. Not conditional. Full approval with 2026 expiration. That really surprised me. (I barely could remember all of my travels.)
My wife applied for renewal a few months ago. Conditionally approved. Interview has to be rescheduled. She doesnt expire until 12/20/20 and has a year after grace period I assume. |

Your wife has one year from conditional approval date to schedule and complete her interview.

Record Fast Approval
Previous expiration date was April 7, 2021.... applied for renewal on this April 9 which included a new state of residence, a new state drivers license, and a retirement from former career...approved sometime overnight last night April 10th without any need for an interview.
Color me impressed. I am thinking this was done by computer without human intervention but I could be wrong. |

Applied for Renewal August 31, 2019. Conditionally approved (interview required) on April 11, 2020. I have some Cuba travel history (declared on application) that I imagine they want to chat about. Hopefully my people to people educational trip is no big deal. I went twice and even took a direct flight on my second trip - the CBP officer seemed to be fine with it when I reentered from a Cuba flight to Miami (I declared cigars - so had to talk to him).

For my wife, renewal:
Applied: 9/3/19 Approval: 4/16/20 (late at night, no interview required) Her previous one ended November 2019, and this is good until November 2024. I'm wondering if the interview was waived due to the situation or whether she anyways would have been approved without an interview |
I applied for Mrs. pa3lsvt's GE renewal on her expiration date/birthday last week. I thought I screwed up because the site already showed that she was expired and was no longer eligible to use her Global Entry benefits, but it took the application as a renewal. (Yes, I am aware of the grace period of 6 months, extended to 12 months, with a renewal application in process due to slow processing times related to CBP resource deployment away from TT programs.)
She has had no less than 8 different jobs since her initial application 5 years ago; what a pain going through and filling that part out! I even forgot about our trip to the Dominican Republic on the question that asked about travel over the last 5 years. She received her new card in the mail in exactly 7 days after I submitted her renewal. I didn't even bother checking her status (being NEXUS, I'm not used to fast movement on applications) and she never mentioned getting an approval email (I'm sure she did). Interestingly, since I applied technically AFTER she expired, her renewal is good for 6 YEARS (I suppose 5 years and 364 days after she applied for renewal) after her previous expiration, not the 5 years I expected. Old expiration: April xx, 2020; new expiration: April xx, 2026. I may have found a procrastination loophole for a free year of benefits, as long as I don't plan any birthday trips for her in 2026! EDIT: I just checked her card and it was issued the day after I submitted her application for renewal. |

On the other hand, if she was not approved immediately, and also required an interview, at the mean time she travels domestically and internationally, how would she feel?

Wouldn't the 1 year grace period apply while the interview was pending?

only if you apply prior to expiration, OP applied one day after. If you apply after you don't get the grace period
Seems like application was done in some Schrödinger's box where it was both expired and not expired at the same time. |

Hmm. Thought OP said applied on expiration date (spouse's birthday) . . . I would assume that it expires at midnight on your birthday (though in which time zone?)
