I've checked every day for the past month. Tonight I get an email saying my status has changed. Of course the site is fouled up and I can't login to check what that change may be! Your tax dollars at work.

I applied for renewal April 8, 2019. It was approved July 24th. Received the new card in the mail today. The old card would have expired tomorrow!

It would seem that there are basically only two modes on renewal approvals. You either get very lucky and get reviewed almost immediately or you wind up in the 90+ day review bucket. Might be a few outliers that are in between but it doesn’t seem there are many. Also doesn’t appear to be any direct, at least not known, connection between your travel, employment, and home address change history that triggers the longer review process. Our travel isn’t all that unusual and no changes in employment status or home address. I wonder if in our case we got put in the 90+ day bucket because we applied with still nine plus months left before our expiration dates. Maybe some person or computer program looked at our expiration dates and put us in the “no big hurry” line. ?????? |
According to the site, it could take up to 100 days for Global Entry applications to be processed, though the CBP spokesperson said in an email this week that between 65 and 70 percent of applications and renewals are being processed in 15 or fewer days. About 25 percent of applications have a processing time of more than 90 days. The agency said anyone who needs to reschedule an appointment should expect availability to be limited through Sept. 30. |

This has been my hypothesis on my renewal. As I mentioned above, my wife and I both applied for renewal on the same day, and hers was almost immediate (within a week) while mine is still outstanding. The biggest difference between us is that hers expires in a couple of months, and mine not until next year.
My spouse applied a few months before expiration and seems to have been put in the long term bucket (she has already passed her expiration date and is coming up on 100 days without any news) whereas I applied 9 months in advance and was approved in a week or so (she is a little miffed). |
The article Lindros2 quoted above states that 65 to 70% of applications and renewals are being processed in 15 days or less. Makes me think new applications are getting the priority and including the few renewals getting approved in that timeframe skews the statistics for renewals. I realize FlyerTalk members only represent a small percentage of travelers with GE but it seems a lot more than 25% of us reporting on renewals are waiting 90+ days.

Renewal application still pending at 108 days here.
Is anyone else having trouble accessing the status of their applications on the CBP website? When I log in, the "loading" wheel spins for a bit, and then disappears without showing my the status. It only displays the FAQ. |

It only displays the FAQ. Renewal application submitted June 11, still pending as of yesterday (last time I was able to log in and see status). Was hoping to do EOA (if interview req'd) on Sept 24 return from next trip, but my hopes are dashed at this point given how long some people have been waiting. |
OK I messed up!

Is there anything I can/should do or do I just keep waiting patiently? I only travel once a month and currently its mostly domestic but still no TSA PreCheck STINKS!!!! |
