I just renewed and still have a year to go. Plus my Chase card is suppose to reimburse me. What a lengthy process online , especially since I had to update multiple jobs, drivers license, addresses etc. Plus it took me awhile to figure out the GOES --> DHS connection thing. I am wondering if the change of info and adding about 8 countries visited since 2014 will require me to go for an interview - at least I have time. I mainly use the card for TSA Pre.

I would plan on an interview being required, if only for the multiple jobs...

I'm about 100 days in the same situation as you are.

As another data point, it looks like I'm in the same boat as several others here. I renewed on 4/16 and expired in early July. The application still shows as pending approval, with 7/25 being T+100 Days.

Just an:eek:ther data point - Mrs. Xyzzy's renewal, submitted a couple of days after expiry, shows up as a renewal that is pending within the online portal. She shows as expired at the GE kiosks and no longer seems to be receiving TSA PreCheck on her BPs.

Hi,
My wife and daughter renewed their Global Entry on 4/12/19 and 102 days later, it still says pending. A friend of ours did his renewal on 6/2 and was approved 30 days later. My wife did do a lot of traveling since she originally signed up for the card but our 18 year old daughter did not. The only good thing is, that I started the renewal process way before either one of them expire (November 2019) so it should be ok by then...I hope.
I assume calling or filing a ticket are all useless and won't speed things up. Is it unusual to wait 100 days or more ? is there an average ? On their page is says average is far less than 100 but maybe it is outdated info.
Maybe the theory about regional delays is correct. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am curious how many more than 100 day applicants are also from here or other large cities. I can only assume major airport hubs (and SF is certainly not one) will have even more delays.

thanks

claus

I know what he said was wrong but whats the point of arguing. I didn't know that it was limited to booth 58 though. Why is that? He didn't say anything about booth 58 only.

My current GE expires the first week of July and I am going to be arriving from Europe 10 days after it expires. If the don't renew it before I arrive back in SFO I assume they'll just treat it as an expired GE and I have to use the normal passport lines?
Between now and then renewal I've had no legal/criminal issues and if anything I have got an FAA license which I think may have had a back ground check, not sure if that matters so I am assuming anything is just a backlog.

As you applied for renewal before your current authorisation expired you get a 6 month extension so can still use the GE lines on your return from Europe (bring a hat it's hot over most of it at the moment!)

So I got the email two days ago notifying me that my renewal was approved (no interview or anything). When I landed at SFO last week, a week after the listed expiration date, it said at the kiosk that my GE status was expiring in 10 days...which was odd because my listed expiration date was the week prior to that.
So 3.5 months for my renewal.

As oft is true of the government the only consistent thing is inconsistency. It doesn’t take long reading the posts here that review and approval times are all over the map in terms of time stuck in the “pending review” status from days to weeks and months. There also doesn’t seem to be any consistency or obvious reason why some are being required to reinterview while others are fully approved. Throw in the supposed backlog caused by the partial Federal government shutdown and then the requirement to provide some CBP personnel to the US-Mexico border. I can’t speak for SFO but here in San Antonio our “International” airport has a very small CBP staff for the few flights from mostly Mexico. I assume many, or at least a few, of the staff are bilingual Spanish speakers who would obviously be prime candidates to be detailed to the border. That may or may not slow down renewal reviews as we also don’t know how or where renewals are distributed out to offices for review. Wife and I are about 60 days in the “pending review” status so I’m not particularly concerned at this point and with the 6-month extension we should be good to go until August-September 2020. It is just curious that our basis status from four years ago has not changed substantially so you’d think approval would be pretty routine.

No interview required!

In May of 2008 CBP started taking applications for GE and the system came online in June of 08 (first at just JFK, DC and Houston and the rest is history). We are less than six months away from the five year mark where we early filers were told our membership was to expire.

Has anyone heard any rumours or seen anything posted about the renewal process? Do you think it be the same as a new application?

With stories of some locations having queues of up to 3 months for interviews I do not want a gap in service for my use of the program.

Just curious...and not patient :D

I renewed a couple of years ago online. At that time there was no need for a new interview. I believe they do another review of new information and approve you for another five years. It was easy and quick as I recall. GL!

Just another data point: my wife and I both applied for renewal on the same day in early July. She got her approval (no interview) in five business days! I have still not heard back yet. Mine doesn't expire until next year anyway, so I'm not in a rush, but I thought it was interesting that we'd have such different timelines (with effectively identical travel histories, etc.).

Finally. I just checked my application date. I re-applied April 24. Today I received the conditionally approved e mail. This was for an expired GE.

Looks like 90 days.

I applied for renewal on 4/12/2019 and I'm still in "Pending Review" 104 days later. My Global Entry expired in late June, but so far TSA Precheck is still working.

Hey folks - I've seen a lot of situations here with adults, but any experience with *RENEWAL* for children (notably under the age of 13)?
I'm on the fence whether to renew my daughter's (my son never got GE), or just let it lapse until she's >13 or >16.

If you get PreCheck and plan to fly from PreCheck-eligible airports on PreCheck-eligible carriers with her when she's 13 years or older, she may not be allowed to ride your PreCheck coattails when her boarding pass doesn't also say PreCheck on it. That is at least one reason I would consider renewing it while a child's under the age of 13.
