Whew!

Applied for renewal April 30 (exp. 11/2019), and finally approved August 28, almost four months later. I assume if status is "approved" there is no interview required?

I thought it was interesting that my approval letter was "sent" from my home airport (LAX). I'm curious to know if others who had to wait >100 days for approval were also processed here?

Correct.

Next time, you can renew as early as 364 days from expiration date.

Thank you so much for this information. The San Diego airport has no appointments available (ever? until the end of time?) and we would have to go to Otay Mesa, on the border, to get an interview.

I went to the Otay Mesa center in 2014, at last renewal. It's not so bad. Let me put it this way: not nearly as bad as Hillcrest DMV.

Applied for renewal on 8/1, still pending
Spouse applied mid-August, conditionally approved days later, interview req'd

Our countries visited since original application are identical, and nothing else has changed for either of us.

Sounds like they are almost to the May applications :) I'm May 13th. Thankfully we have an extra 6 months of extension as I haven't been flying but will be doing about 6 or 7 trips here over the next month and a half. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll see some movement.

Question for the group:
How many of us who are on the long-waiting list reside in states bordering Mexico?
Show of hands?

I'm one.
Day 81

Not that I think it makes a difference but we live in Texas. I imagine, if they farm reviews out to local offices, that our airport CBP lost one or two personnel to the border effort so they may be just getting by.

If planning to do interviev/enrollment on arrival after conditional approval, but not sure which way to go:

- schedule interview somewhere else and just show up at EOA?

- or NOT schedule any interview and show up at EOA?

Just don’t want the EOA peeps tell me I have to go to the scheduled interview instead.

Just show up for EOA. It makes no difference whether you also have an interview appointment or not. In fact, having an interview appointment is a prudent "plan B" in case EOA is not offered when your flight arrives.

Time to renew my wife's GE. We live abroad and she now travels less often than I do. She won't be flying to the US until 4.5 months AFTER her GE expires. Debating whether or not to renew. If I do, what are the chances she gets approved without needing an interview? Alternatively, I see in the wiki that as long as we started the renewal process, she can continue using benefits for an additional 6 months after expiration. Never saw that before. Is that still valid?

Chances are good.

She has one year from her expiration date now as long as renewal process begins prior to expiration date.

If I were you, I would renew now.
1. She may be approved without an interview
2. If an interview is required,
a) She has one year from conditional approval date to complete the process
b) She can use Enrollment on Arrival
