Question:
Has anyone who is still Pending Review AND past their expiration date noticed if their TSA-Pre benefits are also being extended?
My expiry is coming up soon, and still crickets...
Thanks.

What makes you think that? My GE expired in Aug and I am conditionally approved pending my interview and my TSA-Pre has been extended.

Both GE and TSA-Pre worked for me in the weeks between the expiry date and now.

Also my GE renewal was approved after 141 days.

Are renewals also taking this long? I’m over 90 days. Was expecting it would be almost no time at all and am now concerned mine may actually expire.

Sorry to hear...you’re not alone. Still pending here, now 137 days. As expected, Mr kk’s been conditionally approved. took four days, not five. Sigh.

Just received notification today:

"We are pleased to inform you that your U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Global Entry program membership has been approved. You can begin using the program immediately."

151 days!

Yes, Global Entry Renewal.

As long as you renewed prior to expiration, you are fine. Next time, mark your calendar to renew 364 days before expiration.

The amount of time varies, but most people seem to have to wait a long time.

From the wiki: "The amount of time for approval of applications varies from as little as 3 days to as much as 5 months."

You may well have another two months to wait.

there appear to be two random queues:
1. Approval in 4-5 biz days with no interview
2. Approval in 150+ days with or without interview
No rhyme or reason.
If you are at day 90, you are in the long queue. GE benefits will work for 1 year post-expiration date.

Some on the fast track also require an interview.

At about 139 days now. Expired 11 days ago and still getting Pre Chk. The TSA screener at AUS pointed out to me that my GE card was expired. I mentioned the 6 month thing to him, which didn't seem to register, but he did not ask for another ID. PDX didn't say anything about it though.

This year during the period between the GE membership expiration dates and the renewal applications coming back with renewal approval, TSA@LGA refused to accept my travel party members’ expired GE cards when using the PreCheck line with PreCheck boarding passes. TSA@DCA, TSA@ORD, and TSA@MSP noted the expiry but with the expiration dates being less than a year, they accepted the expired cards as ID for TSA TDC purposes. Receiving PreCheck was as consistent as usual during the time — as long as several months — between the cards’ expiry dates and getting final renewal approval.

To all those who said they received a notification of renewal - did you receive an email or did you login to check? According to what I'm seeing, they say they no longer send messages so I just need to periodically login and check, but wanted to see if others were having different experiences.

My wife and I both received emails saying we’d been conditionally approved and that we needed to schedule interviews. That was just last Tuesday (October 22) so very recently. I was a bit surprised as I thought there actually was a notice on the TTP site that said you had to periodically check your status, that they were no longer sending emails. I think others have reported emails but a few have said they only found out by checking on line.

Mine (Oct 23) merely said "TTP Application Status Change" and "There has been a recent change to the status of your application. Please login to the Trusted Traveler Programs Website (https://ttp.dhs.gov) for more information." (but with the further detail you mentioned, once logged in to the website)

Now that you mention it that might have been what our emails said. It was 5:15 AM when we noticed the emails and we’d just gotten up. Coffee hadn’t kicked in yet. 🥴😬 I had enough brain cells working that I logged into TTP to make sure we hadn’t been disapproved.

For others renewing did you automatically get a new GE card or did you request one on the website?

In our experience - for all three of us in my immediate family - it arrives automatically about a week after receiving notification of the final approval of the renewal application without the need for an interview.
