Applied July 10
Conditionally approved November 13 126 days Interview who knows? Cupboard appears pretty bare. |
Same stats for my both partner and me:
Applied: November 3rd Approved with no interview needed: November 8 5 days total We've had multiple address and job changes, plus travel to two dozen or so countries, and both still got approved quickly without an interview. The process truly seems to be completely random. |
Mrs. Xyzzy was finally approved for renewal this week after about 13:eek: days.
|
Great news, Xyzzy.
I'm closing in on the current record, at 157 days with nothing but crickets... |

Any phone number to call with prompts please thanks Be aware that based on FT reports here, early to mid June CAs are starting to be issued. I'd estimate you just have a few days more to wait. |
Let me first just say that I'm about to punch out on a short-notice trip, so I have not exhaustively searched this or any of the other threads. That said, my question is as follows:
I have finally received CA for renewal, with interview required. Right now that's scheduled for five days after my birthday. I can *possibly* try for a walk-in @ Dulles this coming week on my way home, which would be before my birthday. Would I be able squeeze out an extra year by simply waiting - or is it tied to application date vs. interview/approval? In other words, would the walk-in (which would save me a long drive) cost me a year of active status? Thank you all! |

No extra year - actually, up to 364 days - that's only for first time applicants and members who applied for renewal after their original expirations dates. With timely renewals, that is before the membership expires, the new expiration date is five years from the original one.
Cheers! |

I'm so glad I asked - and that you responded so quickly! I have two passports for reasons, so will be packing the second along for this trip just in case I can get walk-in and hopefully save several hours of driving for current appointment as scheduled...
Cheers! |

If you are arriving from abroad, you can take advantage of the Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival program. It is available at IAD in the main terminal, not the midfield terminal, daily between 9:00am and 11:00pm.
Edit: Just as a DP for general information to others, I applied for renewal in early July, and just in recent days received CA. |

...not much going on the day of my departure from IAD. So am hoping to step into a cancellation or whatever. Not sure how feasible that is @ IAD, but probably worth a shot given that my interview as scheduled will kill the better part of a day.

The wiki post in the Global Entry Walk-In Interviews thread has only one entry for IAD, unsuccessful; however, if you're going to be in Washington, DC, members have had very good luck getting walk-in interviews at the Washington, DC, Enrollment Center - Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
