I also applied on June 25th and received my conditional approval today. Now onto the hard part of finding a time to complete the interview. SEA isn't even scheduling interviews at this time...

Rather than your taking time to find an open appointment have you considered "appointment on arrival" Just a thought in case you were not aware of the possibility. |
dgcpaphd, thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I only have one international trip planned in the next 6 months and that has a short connection time between MSP and SEA (coming from LHR). I wish I could do the appointment on arrival at my final destination! If I can squeeze it in at MSP I will but, in case that doesn't work, I should find an interview slot somewhere I'm traveling in US if I can work out timing.

In my case, I applied for renewal on October 1 and was conditionally approved on December 25, so total processing time was a little less than three months. Who knew the federal government worked on Christmas?! I'm going to try to do my interview via enrollment on arrival during an upcoming entry into the US at LAX in February. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I applied for renewal on Jan 7. Today, on Jan 9 I was given conditional approval and required to go to have an interview (to complete the process). Ugh. Last renewal I was accepted without interview. Oh well.

Your fast approval lends credibility to what a Global Entry agent told me about a Global Entry obscure "queue" process that determines the speed of an applicant's application processing. In short, there is no way for us to know what causes a delay in processing without knowing how the "queue" functions and that information is not public. In an earlier thread, I reported talking with an agent at Global Entry in Washington, D. C. who informed me of the "queue" and that some applications have been waiting eight months since applying. Congratulations on such a speedy and lucky renewal process. |

This is interesting: https://maloney.house.gov/sites/malo...plications.pdf
Essentially, super long renewals appear to be due to a technical error, and it gives instructions for resubmitting. If end of June renewal applications weren’t beginning to go through, I might try that... |

If end of June renewal applications weren’t beginning to go through, I might try that... I'm at 91 days currently, uk passport. Previously it didnt say anything about a grace period on my page, but now it does thankfully Due to a significant increase in application volume, we are extending the grace period from 6 months to 1 year for any submitted renewal application. This means you will continue to receive full benefits for 1 year while U.S. Customs and Border Protection is finalizing your renewal application. Hopefully the TSA precheck is extended with it |

Odd, still works here. Text of the linked pdf, from the office of a US Congress member:
Update on Trusted Traveler Program & Global Entry Renewal Applications U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has informed my office that renewal applications of all Trusted Traveler Programs, including Global Entry are experiencing significant delays due to current demand. However, if you file your renewal application prior to your expiration date, your active membership status will be extended for 6 months to allow for application processing. This will allow you to continue to maintain your Trusted Traveler Program privileges as normal throughout your application process. If you are having trouble submitting your Global Entry renewal application, please follow carefully the steps below. If the issue persists after this do not hesitate to reach out to my office. The problem you are experiencing with renewal applications may be because the expired document information saved in your account from a previous Trusted Traveler Programs application is transmitted with your application. This prevents the application from being approved. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is aware of this issue and working diligently to resolve the issue and has developed a workaround. As a temporary workaround, follow the steps below to cancel and successfully refile an application to avoid this error: 1. Log into your account on a laptop or computer instead of a mobile device to simplify the process. 2. When first logging in to the account, below the button that says, “Continue Application” will be another button that says, “Cancel Application.” You must then click “Cancel Application” and confirm your intent to cancel when prompted. 3. If the passport on your account is expired, open your account page and click the “Edit Documents” button on the right side of the page. You must enter the details for a new passport in your account prior to applying for a new application. 4. On the edit document page, the new documents can be entered and/or the necessary changes can be made to your documents. 5. When entering the information into the passport fields, your name should match how it appears on your passport EXACTLY, not necessarily how it is shown on your TPP page. 6. After updating your passport information, you must procced to click “Renew Application” on the existing or expired membership and file a new application for your desired Trusted Traveler Program. |
