My (draft) application does have my new mailing address. If I apply now and my AZ DL is changed to WA before the interview or processing will it cause a hiccup?
|
You may not need an interview, so I'd roll the dice right now. IF you end up in the long queue, you won't be able to amend the application and IF you have to book the interview, you can make changes then.
None of us can make any sense of what's going on right now, so it's up to you to weigh the risks and benefits. For sure you want to renew before expiration, otherwise it'll be FUBAR. Day 121 Pending Review |
Applied for renewal 5/20 Approved 10/11 (144 days)
Wife applied for renewal 6/13 Approved 6/18 Daughther applied for renewal 7/17 still pending |

What you'll have to do is notify the officer at your interview that you have a new passport/passport number, etc. You can change it on the TTP site in your profile for your existing GE, but you can't change application info once it's filed.

Mrs K and I hit 140 days today “pending review” and no joy. Based on posts a couple of weeks ago I had hoped the magic number was around 132-134 days but that now seems to have been pushed to the right. Grrr.......☹️

I applied for renewal on June 17. Still shows pending review. Current GE expires on Dec 10. When I went through immigration at SFO yesterday, the screen flashed a notice that my GE expires in 59 days = Dec 10, 2019. Has this happened to others who have applied for renewal prior to expiry? I thought we were automatically extended by 1 year if we apply for renewal prior to expiry?

Yes, and if your renewal extends past the expiration dates, the kiosks will still work for up to one year now. The kiosk will say a negative expiration date, but it will work. :)

Approval in 4 Days
Here a good news story. I applied for Global Entry renewal on October 9. Received status change email on Oct 13. Approved for another 5 years. This came on a Sunday night. Hardworking agents! I'm happy.

I applied for renewal on 10/5 and checked today and was conditionally approved today. I live in CO and fly out of DEN.
I have to reschedule an interview. Somehow miraculously there was an interview available at DEN on 11/5. Next available is months out. No idea why I have to go in for another interview. Data points- -I've traveled to 21 countries on >30 trips since I first got global entry five years ago. -I spent a significant portion of the first 4 years on international work trips. -I accidentally brought a prohibited item to a TSA precheck lane about a year into the program. No criminal charges were filed and I wasn't imposed a fine of any kind. I was temporarily suspended from TSA Pre for a year, but my global entry status remained intact. Best guess is that they want to know why I travel so much or the TSA Pre incident flagged something in their system. |
I'm glad for those getting their renewals almost immediately, but boy...
Day 125 Hubby and daughter got renewed in <7 days, no interview No issues of contraband nor traveling to sketchy countries |

Moderator's Note
Folks,
Let me quote one of our members who posted in the Global Entry - processing timelines of first time applications [US citizens & LPR's] thread:

If you read the recent postings with data points, the best strategy is to RELAX. If people are getting approved on day 147, what reason is there to expect that you will be approved sooner?
I fully understand your frustrations. However, if you applied to renew your Global Entry membership before it expired, you will continue to to receive Global Entry benefits pending the final approval of your renewal application for up to one year after its original expiration date. This is an informational forum. It serves no purpose to post several updates a week about how long you have been waiting for the approval of your renewal application unless has been a new development, such as having been approved, or your waiting time now exceeds 147 days. Thank you for understanding and your anticipated cooperation, TWA884 Travel Safety/Security co-moderator P.S. You are welcome to vent your frustrations in the Policy Debate forum. |
