That situation was 100% true for my tardy renewal.

I was just granted conditional approval on my renewal.. This is my second renewal. First renewal was approved without an interview, this one will require an interview.

Checking the site, I could not find a single zoom interview anywhere on the calendar... but there do seem to be plenty of airport slots.

Has anyone been successful with a Zoom interview?

I agree .. but that means giving them the $100 that bit sooner :)
Makes sense for sure if they tack on the 5 years after the end of the initial period (and not the actual renewal date for effectivity) I assume the latter is not the case. Thkx.

But you dont lose any days for applying early. The new expiry will still be 5 years from the original expiry date.

While it is true that you don't lose any days by applying early, the next expiration date will be five years from the previous expiration date, a late renewal of an expired membership results in a new expiration date which is five years after the first birthday following the the final approval of the renewal application. I'm sure that jmd001 can verify that.

Adding 1 data point to this - I applied (3/24) roughly 6 weeks after expiration and was approved 48 hours later (3/26) without an interview.

When is your new expiration date? Feb 2026 or 2027?

wife's expire in few months this year and paid for renewal 2 days ago. Child's expire in 2022 but it gave me renewal option for him too so I submitted renewal and paid fee 2 days ago. He was around 3 when he tried his finger print during our GE interview. I think they later told us it didn't capture his finger print. So with this renewal, will they require in person interview for our child to get finger print?

Will they tell us if her's and his renewal will be approved without interview or no?

The main question the application asked was if we traveled outside the US canada or mexico after 2016? We didn't and it looks like they already know this but just wanted to make sure?

Thanks.

Mine was to expire July 2021. Applied for renewal Jan 15, 2021 and was approved April 1, 2021. New expiration date is 2026. This was my second renewal where no interview was required. Overall a drama free process.

They will either be approved or receive conditional approval (which requires an interview).

Renewal application to approval was 6 days total

Does anyone know how long it takes for a new card to arrive?

Thanks

Over the years yes, but nothing like some people here I'm sure.
