I applied for my first renewal on February 2, 2020. This was a few days after I was eligible to apply for renewal as I was in Cuba on my birthday. Even with a VPN, I thought it best not to access the Trusted Traveler program website from a Cuban IP address.
Renewed on February 2, 2020. 12 countries traveled to in 5 years. That included multiple trips to Cuba. Application was approved December 11, 2020…313 days later. No interview required. |
Grace Period Question,....
My GE was renewed in March without need for an interview. My wife's required an interview-which we have not been able to do. We tried in Aruba preclearane-there system was down. Today in DFW, they refused to do it-saying the email I have been getting about doing on return from international trip at DFW that they would. One guy told my wife. "You'll be fine without GE..." I didn't like that. Her's expires Monday. So she's conditionally approved for renewal pending interview. Does she get an extra year of use due to Covid. I think, so, but am confused as its possible to read that since the ball is in our court it could be our issue???? Anyone know the answer. (I did her application Jan 2019 and set a March interview to match mine...) |

As of July 1, 2020, the GE benefits extension for renewing members is 18 months.
From the CBP Media Release: CBP will extend for up to 18 months the Trusted Traveler Program benefits of members who apply for renewal before their current membership expires. Please continue the discussion of this subject in the following thread: |

Hi, here is some info for others. We are based in IL & recently did the second renewal for my wife and I. Hers will expired on June, mine in October. We always travel together. On this second renewal I updated her work history, including 2 periods of unemployment, as well as mine, but no unemployment period for me. My wife received her REAL ID DL last year, and I just did mine after the renewal. Application was on Feb 2, I received approval on Feb 4, still waiting for hers. Lets see how it goes.

Applied for renewal Friday night, conditionally approved yesterday. I had a change of address so that may have triggered it since everything else was the same.

I was expecting a long wait so applied on Dec 8 for renewal. Expiration was March 2021. Dec 9, 830 pm ET I got an email from TTP telling me my status had change. I logged in an am renewed through March 2026.
Updates were employment status (retired now) and the list of countries visited. I first signed up for GE in about 2011 - this is my second time renewing. |
I finally got my application for renewal approved, 319 days after applying on Feb. 20, 2020. (Expiration date was in June 2020.)
This was my first renewal of GE. No requirement for an interview. Since I applied for my renewal I had updated both my passport (twice!*) and my driver's license so I was expecting I might have to schedule an interview to update the document information. Nothing "unusual" in my travel history in the last few years, btw. Hope this helps others waiting for their renewals. It does seem that either you get your renewal within a couple of days if you file it now, or you're waiting around 310 days if you filed it early last year. (*) I renewed my passport in November and the new one they issued wasn't the 52-page version that I had asked for, so I complained and they issued me another one in the 52-page format (free of charge) last month. I guess technically I had one valid passport for just a couple of weeks. Of course, I have no way to tell whether the passport renewals did anything to the GE renewal process in any way. |
Any recent data points on renewal times?

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/32902467-post1508.html (renewal took 24 hours) https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/32937124-post1510.html (renewal took 319 days) Some renewals are fast, some take about 10 months. It's random. |
I applied for renewal in mid-January, 2020 (active GE was going to expire in min-January 2021). Pending status for 11 months. Got approval (no interview needed) December 18. Got my GE card in the mail last week.

Anyone else having issues renewing Global Entry as a Korean passport holder?
I'm within the renewal window, and the Renew button appears on the GE box. https://images2.imgbox.com/74/64/VccAx40l_o.jpg When clicking, it will automatically default to showing Korean Passport/Non US resident. https://images2.imgbox.com/ac/dd/KQegd7E6_o.jpg But below that it only offers SENTRI. https://images2.imgbox.com/81/9b/sxm3dvVv_o.jpg However if I change the dropdown from Korea, to another non-US/CA country that offers GE, like Singapore, GE appears as an option above SENTRI. Anyone run into this before? |

Another issue may have to do with your ESTA or visa information on file with the CBP; is it up to date? |

Congrats! Just wondering - Which photograph do you have on the renewed GE card? The one from the expired one? |

For GE card holders who get a renewal application that goes directly from "pending" to "final approval" -- meaning no need to come in for the "interview" to get from "conditional approval" status to "final approval" status -- the new GE card has the same photo as the previous GE card. |
