Another data point... My GE expired last year.
August 19: Submitted new application October 5: Conditionally approved (was able to schedule ZOOM for October 8!) October 8: Had a 3-minute Zoom interview with a CBP officer and was approved Very pleased with this Twilight Zone level of governmental efficiency. Not bad at all, especially the interview process. |

Just received email. Submitted new application and paid the fee. Have traveled to more than 10 countries since 2016. Will be interesting to see if I am interviewed or get the renewal without interview.

I submitted my renewal application on Friday morning and woke up this morning to a "status change" email. I logged in and my application was approved with my new expiration date 5 years later than what my current expiration date was. No re-interview necessary ... this is the second renewal that I won the "no re-interview" lottery.

How much international travel did you do over the last 5 years? I always fly award on one-way trips for ease of changing flights on the fly, and there was Turkey travel in there. I think that raised suspicions and I got full inspections for the next several months of flights after including one airport that brought in a bomb expert to check my bags. So I wonder if they're going to dig in with all the international travel I had.
I've done two renewals with no interviews, SSSS, etc. |

I do a lot of similar travel (always booking one way awards on ET, TK, QR, etc for the same reason). At least 2 fights a year. When I flew for work, I traveled with a fair amount of gear that caused two bomb inspections (both at FRA).

Thanks for the data point. I was SSSS after my Istanbul travel in September until the start of January then it disappeared. Nothing since.
