Different flight availability results
Hi, I was trying to search for flight
MEL - x SIN - PVG for QF on 26 March 2013

But I was getting different results. What could be the cause?
Expedia can see a very low S class being able to book, so I'm confused.

The link above is quite interesting however I do not see the "U" category of upgrade buckets such as RU and OU nor the "P" category of RP and OP. Are they to be found on KVS?

KVS Tool supports DL Award, but not DL Upgrade Classes Booking Classes (and vice-versa for the 'other' tool) .

The [Availability/FS] Method continues to function normally -- please advise if the issue persists.

Ummmm, interesting. I really do not want to pay for two tools and finding awards happens maybe three, four, five times a year so I can afford to fool around, waste time schmoozing with Diamond Line agents, throw SkyPesos around like confetti, and so on. However, the upgrade availability feature is something vital that I need to use every day since the companies usually only pay for coach lowest available and friends don't let friends sit in coach if they can at all help it.

Let me know if you add the feature and I will be along fairly quickly.

Still a problem...

My username/login is correct, as it works on the FS website.

Waiting for GTC credentials in the meantime, since this isn't working!

My computer was just updated to IE10, not sure if that is the reason??

FS is working properly in FF.

That was the problem - I guess the Tool needed an IE cookie from FlightStats.com, so *after* I signed into the site in IE10, it worked.

Still requesting GTC please...

I'm new to KVS and signed up for Diamond level. Right now I'm exploring the various functions.

As a test, I'm trying to check "Other Award Availability" which is supposed to include AS, but the only non-alliance carriers that show up are EY and VS. I cannot find AS anywhere, nor can I seem to find info in the FAQ explaining how to access award information for AS.

I can see A and W seats when I am using the Availability tab, but AS doesn't show up under the Awards/Upgrades tab. And I'm not sure how to access award seat availability for partner carriers.

Is this because I'm using temporary credentials? Or because I'm doing something wrong? Please point me in the correct direction.

Yes, it apparently required an IE cookie, although I never use IE...

Use DL/SkyTeam for AS Awards?

Interesting -- that trick does seem to work. Merci. But it does make me wonder why it isn't listed as an option on the FAQs.

DL/SkyTeam FAQ shows this: http://www.kvstool.com/Screenshots.p...Awards_SkyTeam. But the Other Award Availability carriers (AS, EK and many more) don't appear in the drop down menu on Award/Upgrade search.

Do you also have a trick for revealing award availability on EK or other non-alliance carriers that are listed as able to be accessed via KVS Award Availability searches?

belfordrocks Mar 17, 2013 1:35 am

You can scroll down to the FAQ page with the list of airlines and it shows you the method for each airline.

Please consult the table at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes to determine which KVS Tool Method(s) you need to use for each specific airline.
