There we go. Thanks for the answer. I'll look to upgrade at my next renewal.

I'm a Diamond member, can I get the full (not mobile) version of KVS on an iPad?

If you want something that will work on your iPad, get Expert Flyer. I've got both KVS and EF. When I take bumps, or in cases of irrops, it's much easier to use EF on my iPad, while waiting in line, or at the counter in the RCC.

Skyteam and Trans-Pacific Awards

If covered elsewhere, please point me in the right direction.

I am trying to find a transpacific award routing, possibly other than on DL. Using the Awards/Skyteam method, all transpacific routings return "No Award Availablity/Route Too Complex/Date Out of Range." To test, I found a non-stop DL flight with availability using the Awards/DL method which the Skyteam methid could not find (in June, so within the 10 mo. limit). In the test case, I was searching NRT-SFO, both specific airport codes. Does the fact that that method is powered via AF preclude transpacific routes?

Thanks,
TRRed

It is also possible that DL only makes those seats available to its own FFP members and not as SkyTeam awards.

Hi, a newbie with a question here.

I am trying to search for award availability on OneWorld airlines (using AA miles). A search for Feb 5 from HKG to SIN for 2 people shows business class availability on 2 different CX flights (using AU-QFA-SP1 POS). I call AA hoping to book one of them, and they are not showing any availability. So, how can I use the availability info in KVS to make an award booking?

Thank you!

There are currently 3 C award seats available on CX 715, so you just need to keep calling AA [back], until you get a competent agent...

Thanks for the reply, KVS!

Please let me just confirm my understanding. I was afraid that the concept of POS (which determines who can see what) may have prevented the AA agent from seeing the award seats on that flight. But what I hear you say is that AA agents should be able to see all award availability, correct? If I see it in KVS, they should see it too?

Thanks again!

This is not a POS issue.

That is correct -- please also see Q32 at http://FAQ.KVSTool.com/

Downloaded KVS Availability Tool and purchased Diamond level access. Within five minutes the Tool paid for itself twice over!

Great stuff.

Likewise. I can't believe that I thought between my know-how, Expertflyer, AA.com, BA and QF tools I'd be ok. This tool is amazing!

One side note- I'm getting a data access error "4002" when I try to run an award search. I couldn't find information on the site about it. Anyone getting a similar error this morning?

EDIT: It seems like the system will sporadically return results and alternate with the error message.

I have paid for KVS Platinum/Diamond level access at various times (currently Platinum) but quite reluctantly. Without alerts / scheduled searches, it's barely useful to me, especially considering I can only search one day at a time (slowly).

EF is still the gold standard from an interface POV and is the only way to get all sorts of handy things like seat alerts, but the lack of OW award coverage requires a supplementary tool.

ANX has enough of the feature/functionality (multiday searches, scheduled searches) but the pricing/rationing makes no sense to me.

I am also getting this error intermittently at the moment, at least for OneWorld searches (haven't tried others).

I do agree that EF and KVS seem to complement each other more than not. I haven't heard of ANX. Do you have more info about it?
