# Q: Why isn't city X/airport code XXX in the list?
# A: There are 10 000+ IATA airport codes worldwide, of which approx. 2 000+ can be decoded by the Tool for performance reasons. However, you can still check availability and fares to/from XXX by entering the airport code.

Yes.

Are you suggesting that the KE reward buckets are published in the GDSes and are visible through the tool? What buckets are they? They are not listed in the FAQ page of "which tool to use for which airline."

No, but regular KE availability (which is shown) can be used to make an educated guess as to the likelihood of award seats being available ...

How "educated" is the guess? Obviously if the flight is zeroed out there will be no reward seats, but does a J9, J5 or J2 indicate that there is a chance of reward seats will be available? I understand the overall trend that more open seats means better chances, but is it really that educated a guess, or just a guess?

Skyteam Award availability showing the following error but only in POS: US-NWA not JP-NWA

Datasource Error

"nwa.com"

KVS Sep 12, 2008 5:09 pm

[ORT: Awards/SkyTeam] Method

The POS setting for this Method must be set to [JP-NWA], until a new version of the KVS Tool is released, as the [US-NWA] POS is temporarily unavailable.

Availability in J on its own would not tell much, but something like J9 D9 C9 (Vs. J8 D2 C1) would mean a pretty good chance of an award seat being available...

KVS 3.3.0 still has the Skyteam nwa.com datasource error for me when set to US-NWA. It works with JP-NWA. Was this supposed to have been fixed?

Also, I never get HA award availability for with the "Skyteam +AS HA YX" selection, only with explicitly selecting HA only.

Yes, V3.3.0 fully supports the new US-NWA engine. Are you sure you are actually running the new version of the Tool?

Noted -- thanks.

It's now working using the US-NWA selection. And yes, it says "3.3.0/Platinum" in the header. Didn't work for me last night.

I'm now getting Datasource Error,

"We're sorry, there was a problem processing this search request (Message 106)" with some SkyTeam Awards queries, such as for EWR-KOA for 21 Oct 2008.

The Tool itself is functioning correctly -- the above error message is coming from the US-NWA award search engine.

This query seems to work fine by changing EWR to NYC or using the JP-NWA POS though...

Is there a reason I can never see any results for AF routes between USA and CDG when searching for SkyTeam awards? Are they not available at all?

Even I had this problem a few weeks back. What you can do is search the flights in Sabre and look for O class availability. O is the fare bucket for biz award seats.

It's an issue with the NW engine -- AF flights periodically disappear, but then come back:
