The purpose of this thread is to post questions, feedback, and report issues with ExpertFlyer. The ExpertFlyer team will respond as soon as possible from the ExpertFlyer Voice account (usually within 24 hours except on weekends).

Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
  • Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
  • Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS

To search AA upgrades:
  • Use the Award & Upgrade tool
  • Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
  • To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

Ugh, they are trying to roll the new stuff out again. Same issues as last time, what I have reported multiple times has still not been fixed. Guess they really don’t care.

We are looking into the issue with SQ Seat Maps as well. Once we hear back with more details, we will be sure to give you an update!

Wiki Needs Updating

ExpertFlyer Voice , since you are around and active, I would suggest that you edit the Wiki that says that there is no customer support offered by EF. That is obviously now incorrect. I'd change it myself, but I thought you might want to be your own "voice."

I have had a flight alert saved for several months looking for at least 1 availability of a particular fare class. I just happened to check manually today and there was availability! My alert never fired. Now I wonder how many other of my alerts haven't fired. There was a schedule change since creating the alert, but the day, flight number, and fare class I wanted to be alerted on stayed the same.

FYI Still no distinction between occupied and blocked seats on LH/LX/OS/LO/BT flights seatmaps.

So given the first rollout of the 'new' mobile experience was a complete disaster and the website still says in salmon-colored background "A new and improved mobile web experience is coming in the next few days", when exactly do we expect the updated interface? If the new pages aren't coming soon, please get rid of the banner that has to load on every single page (it's annoying).

FYI, the same also applies for BA flights now - e.g. row 1 on every short haul flight shows as 'occupied' when in reality the seats are often just blocked for OWE members.

Just a quick heads up - we have some scheduled maintenance planned for tomorrow, July 16th from 6:30 - 8:30 AM EST. During this time Expertflyer.com will be down, but you will continue to receive alerts.

Afterward, you will have access to our new and improved mobile experience.

Here's what you'll see after the maintenance window:
  • Redesigned mobile experience with added functionality & easier navigation
  • You'll be able to search for +/- 3 days on mobile
  • The desktop experience remains mostly the same, but with a more modern look
  • Text alerts are back
Important notes:
  • Same login credentials will work. No need to reset passwords or create new accounts.
  • All your alerts, saved queries, and preferences will be automatically transferred

Some functional inconsistencies:

In Flight Availability Search, sometimes selecting Direct/Non-Stop only will still show connecting itineraries:




But other times it will correctly show just the non-stops:
