Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
  • Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
  • Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS

To search AA upgrades:
  • Use the Award & Upgrade tool
  • Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
  • To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

Also wondering about the accuracy of seat maps:

From the search listed in the previous post, the result show F6.

Yet the seat map is showing only 5 seats:

The information blurb states "JAL may show Occupied seats as Blocked on domestic Japan flights," but this is an international flight.

Additionally, I believe the accurate wording would be "JAL may show Blocked seats as Occupied on domestic Japan flights."

My guess is that one of the seats may be blocked, but is showing as occupied on the international flight (JL Flight 9)

The same day seat map issue is also happening with Alaska Airlines as well. Also, the seat map for Alaska does not show any occupied seats for their Premium Economy product. Thanks!!

We're looking into both the issues you flagged. Not the ideal solution, but believe if you exclude codeshares you should get only one-way options.

Same for CX seat maps, no distinction between occupied and blocked seats, and also unable to access seat map in the final hour to departure. We used to be able to access the correct seat map including blocked vs. occupied seats until after departure.

This is a major functionality loss to myself. Also note that there are other tools right now that can shows occupied vs. blocked seats on CX.

Any updates on whether ExpertFlyer could fix this or is this now a permanent loss? Thanks.

Hey everyone - our new mobile web experience is now live. Thank you to everyone who helped test it and gave feedback. We believe we addressed most of the issues, but if we missed anything please let us know and we will address ASAP.

Unrelated, we are looking into the occupied vs blocked distinction for the airlines mentioned and will post as soon as we have an update.

Sigh... website 'experience' was updated as well, and has some of the SAME issues as last time. Saved queries are a complete mess - a mix of recent and old searches that are past the date and I had deleted a week ago.

Some settings in the saves for times and direct or partner flights are changed or reverted to default also, which makes the entire saved queries useless and I will have to go through every one to make sure it is accurate now.

Too much spacing/white space in general - everything takes up a lot more space in a browser window now and I have to scroll around to see the same info that used to fit on the screen.

We are looking into the saved queries issue. We had pushed a fix for this last week but obviously still seem to be having issues. Will fix asap. The only setting that we were unable to migrate was the default view for seat maps (all in one view vs tabbed results). Re: spacing - we pushed fixes to the forms that should have compressed it compared to last time. Is there a specific screen you're referencing? We will continue to iterate on this.

We understand. We are working to address all of the reported issues. Some of them unfortunately will take longer to action because they are related to airlines restricting access to certain information (like the 24 hour seat map issue). We will continue to update as we have a clearer timeline.

This is horrendous UI.

Saved queries way too small:

Way too much spacing in seat maps - Surely you can display more than 15 rows in one page?

thanks, so tbh probably best i cancel my subscription and only rejoin once you have fixed them? or are you going to compensate me with a part refund for the lengthy period where these features aren't available?

The new UI looks great, but it seems that the search for dates is now limited to 11 months instead of 12 months. I got a subscription purely for new award availability up to 12 months from now, but now I can't see new availability unfortunately. Is this an oversight? Could this be fixed please?

The new UI looks AWFUL, not great. There is so much use of white that it's hard to read anything. The font is so much smaller that it's hard to read things (especially the links below the drop-down menus on the left like "View Saved Alerts". There's no 'dark mode' which would probably fix almost all of my visibility issues with this new site.

I also don't need to know that Brussels Airlines award inventory shows partner levels and that M&M flyers might have better results when I'm doing a revenue search. I hate warning messages for the sake of warning messages, especially when they are displayed on the wrong pages. If I were doing an award search then showing this message would be fine.

I also have the same issue with old queries showing up that I deleted but at least the new ones I made yesterday copied over! Also, my login actually worked.

I do appreciate you trying to make changes that are moving the site forward. I just wish you would have had an actual beta program that people could join. I commented on that months ago when I got invited to the beta but had zero way to use it.
