Seat Maps: we're currently not able to show seat maps for flights departing within the next 24 hours for several airlines: DL, BA, QR , ANA, B6, & JL
Searches currently not working:
- Upgrades - AY, BA, EK, EY, IB, QR, VS
- Awards - AY, BA, IB, EY, QR, VS
To search AA upgrades:
- Use the Award & Upgrade tool
- Only search for individual segments (set the "Connection Preference" drop-down to "Direct/Non-Stop only"). Flight results that are part of a connection won't show the upgrade version of C or A inventory because AA only files upgrade inventory as individual, not married, segments. (Married segments show revenue inventory instead of upgrade inventory.)
- To avoid confusion, check the "Exclude Codeshares" box, as AA awards and upgrades are not valid on codeshares.

Mine are accurate and because I book so far ahead, I know theyre accurate as my seats are the only ones occupied although this is BA and PG and not AA.

For AA seat maps, all MCE and Preferred seats show as occupied even if they're not. It looks like EF is only showing seats as unoccupied if they can be selected by anyone regardless of status and fee-free. It's better than it was yesterday – aircraft alerts can be set, but seat map and seat alert functions are only partially restored, at least for AA.

Did a quick check for my seat alerts on UA, JL, and HA. All appear to be working (in contrast to last week). Will keep month-to-month for now. Really awaiting EF contacting their customers with information about their future direction.

Has anyone else contacted RedVentures? I emailed Ric Elias yesterday; I would suggest everyone reach out as well to (respectfully) express their disappointment

If you're seeing this it's my guess that the GDS implemented a new seat map API that was slightly different from the old one which they shut off, something that has happened several times in the past, but the parsing of the new API vs the old API wasn't double checked. To help them, email support with a specific, reproducible example of a flight more than a few days in the future, with a screen shot of the seat map from AA.com for comparison, pointing out the specific differences of seat type. Hopefully they'll figure it out (this is the kind of stuff I used to do).

First query for an LX flight worked, but when I tried to switch cabin it failed. Retrying the original query also failed now. Changed to different flight, this time LH, same error.
An error has occurred while communicating with the airline reservation system. The support team has been notified of this problem. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Flight Availability alone justifies the $99/year fee for me, so I’ll continue to pay as long as it works well (and provided there is no new better alternative).
Seat Maps — and, especially, the Aircraft Change alerts — is of course very useful, and I’m hoping they fix it.
As to Award Alerts, well, I simply don’t count on EF anymore. *A no longer supported, and other airlines simply stop working without notice. There are much user-friendlier tools out there now, too bad this means we have to pay additional subscriptions.
