I cancelled my Chase Marriott card about a year ago. Is there any chance re-applying I can get the 50k bonus again?

I reapplied and got accepted for the Chase Marriott card 3 months after I had cancelled it. It received FYF and 50000 points but no free night.

hi
I"m looking at the Amex Gold Business card--could someone explain how to use the 'referral' option to get the extra 10,000 points -- or is that not still available?

You need to sign up online using an existing cardholder's referral.

Here is the link to AMEX Canada "Refer A Friend" page:

https://www.americanexpress.com/cana...ds_promo_refer

Assuming you have a Gold Reward card right now, you will click Gold Reward card first, then click "Recommend a different Card?" link and the Gold Business card offer will show up.

Yes self-referring is a one of the greatest tricks when it comes to AMEX in Canada… I can only recommend reading this other thread, if you wish to learn more about Canadian AMEX: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...da-2014-a.html

I'm seriously contemplating this card for my trip to Europe in 2015. Current rate for a hotel I'm interested in (Amsterdam City Centre) is 30K and $70 USD/night or 343 euros/night ($484/night) This equates to 60K points + approx $280 CAD including the AF . So in my books, 2 nights using cash and points would save me:

$484/night * 2 nights =$968 - $280= $688.

Please correct me if my math is wrong.

Talking Patting Myself on the Back...

And there you have it;

http://dcta.ca/2014/10/50-conversion.../#.VFda7dm9LCQ

50% bonus! And you can get extra 15k points with FYF!
My little bird definitely came through....

I hope you guys switched or applied for the card when I mentioned this insider tip!

So quoting tommy, a lil bird told me (yeah, I got kids) that RBC will have a 50% bonus for BA soon! So not only can you get 1.5x for each Avion, but it's a great time for you disgruntled AP guys to apply the hacking trick and convert AP to BA! (AP 50K = BA 52.5K when the bonus applies)

https://www.creditwalk.ca/aeroplan-h...n-cardholders/

FYI, this bonus applies only to infinite Avion cardholders. And correct tommy, there was a 50% bonus back in May 1st.

So suit up guys, it's bonus roundup time! You can all thank me later... :-D

Thanks for your input...

I was looking to trade for another mileage program. Something that gives me good value for my airmiles...

On the flight subject, 5500 points for a 900$ flight low season. But I still have to pay the taxes! Which means 5500 points only covers 480$!

Now you understand what I mean that it's reeeeeeaaaally not worth it?

I poked around, and they can be redeemed for flights. I saw round trip in "low season" YYZ-LHR for 5500 points. YYZ-EZE for 6000 points. I don't know if that's good or bad relative to other redemption options. But if those are the points you're talking about, play around on the site and see what you can find. Also, to note, redeeming them for flights might get mileage-earning flights.
