For each request, please include the following information:
Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:
For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.
----
NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.
Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----
*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")
NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
- signup bonuses for various DL-branded AMEX cards (usually have a spend requirement)
- if you already have planned travel, consider buying up (in advance, not at check in) for 50% MQM bonus and more flexible same-day-confirmed options which are another way to increase MQMs
- Hilton 250 MQMs per stay of 2 nights or more
- if you are close to a threshold Delta often will offer a buy-up (at exorbitant prices). 2016 thread, and speculation/anticipation thread for 2017

Departure Airport: LAX
Miles Needed: 10,000 or more
Required Spend or Budget: cheapest preferred but maximum $2,000
Available Travel Dates: Dec. 15/24
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: Anything yielding high MQM for DL SM
I would love to hit Australia or JNB on this run.
I have some Skybonus points I could redeem if that helps my pout of pocket cost at all.
If there is a cabin service multiplier out there that could help. Just need to hit Diamond

Thank you

You will need to travel on a partner to earn more MQDs than amount spent. For a business class ticket that earns 40% MQD and 1.5x MQMs, you will need to fly a distance of at least 16,700 miles - from JFK, somewhere like Manila or further (Bangkok, Singapore, Johannesburg, Capetown, etc.) Not sure you can do this in only two days and for $1500.
In Economy, you will be looking at somewhere like Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Male with fares that earn 10% MQD (so not the deeply discounted Economy fares.)
If you can fly weekdays, then that JFK-MLE trip I suggested earlier is available for Dec 10 - 13, China Eastern, $1197 / $1369 (booking classes: R-B-B-R), about 25,000 MQMs, about $2900 MQDs, 2 days in MLE, lower price has a 14 hour vs 6 hour layover in PVG on return, getting back the evening of the 14th, Bookable on Expedia
For a "weekend" run, JFK-MLE is available Dec 14 - 16 for $1371 / $1442 (booking class: K-B-B-R), 26 hours in MLE, the higher price is with the 6 hour layover in PVG, getting back on the afternoon of the 17th, bookable on Expedia

Dec 15 or 16, LAX-JNB for 5-8 nights, ~$1850, ~21,000MQM. Use delta.com to search, LAX-JNB round trip with flexible dates - I used Dec 15-23 as date parameters.
Dec 15-22, LAX-SYD, $2081, ~14,000MQM. Book directly on Delta, DL41/DL6799
Alternative for a quick run:
Dec 15-17 LAX-NHD Premium Select(A/G), $1791, ~16,000MQM, 26 hours in HND. Book directly on Delta (DL7/DL6)

Hello! First time poster. Been flying a lot more for work and am now just under Delta Platinum Medallion. Here’s what I’m looking for:
Departure airport: LAX or BUR
Budget: $400 max
Miles needed: 2200 MQM’s
Available dates: week of 12/16-12/20
Looking for a roundtrip departure/return on the same day. Right now I have a first class ticket to Denver roundtrip that will get me 2548 MQM’s and will get me Platinum but it was $490. Love to pay less if it’s possible, or do you think that’s the best I can do? Thanks so much in advance!!

Delta DCA to anywhere
Greetings Flyertalk community,
Departure Airport: DCA (or WAS airports)
Miles Needed: 8,962 MQM's
Required Spend or Budget: MQD requirement already met, Budget ~$700
Available Travel Dates: Dec 11-12; Dec 17-18; Dec 18-19
I would like to keep my Delta Platinum status for next year, and am coming up a bit short. I was looking at flights, and many involve complicated bookings. Also, I only want to fly within the US States and territories. Any thoughts??

Been away from FlyerTalk for a while. Reading through this thread is reminding me why I love you guys so much and need to come back.
I'm on the fence whether to try to make this happen, but I was motivated enough tonight to start looking at flights. Then I remembered you all are way better at this than my fumbling around with delta.com and kayak.com. Any ideas?
Departure Airport: AUS (could also do SAT/Houston/Dallas if I had to)
Miles Needed: 12,099 to Platinum
Required Spend or Budget: $1,356 MQD
Available Travel Dates: 12/14 - 12/31; prefer 12/21 or later
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: Codeshare ok
