For each request, please include the following information:
Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:
For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.
----
NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.
Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----
*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")
NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
- signup bonuses for various DL-branded AMEX cards (usually have a spend requirement)
- if you already have planned travel, consider buying up (in advance, not at check in) for 50% MQM bonus and more flexible same-day-confirmed options which are another way to increase MQMs
- Hilton 250 MQMs per stay of 2 nights or more
- if you are close to a threshold Delta often will offer a buy-up (at exorbitant prices). 2016 thread, and speculation/anticipation thread for 2017

Been away from FlyerTalk for a while. Reading through this thread is reminding me why I love you guys so much and need to come back.
I'm on the fence whether to try to make this happen, but I was motivated enough tonight to start looking at flights. Then I remembered you all are way better at this than my fumbling around with delta.com and kayak.com. Any ideas?
Departure Airport: AUS (could also do SAT/Houston/Dallas if I had to)
Miles Needed: 12,099 to Platinum
Required Spend or Budget: $1,356 MQD
Available Travel Dates: 12/14 - 12/31; prefer 12/21 or later
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: Codeshare ok

If you want to achieve MQDs and MQMs on one trip:
Dec 26 - 28, AUS-ICN (via ATL), $1510, about 16,000 MQMs, $1408 MQDs, 38 hours in Seoul
Doing it in two trips:
Dec 26, AUS-OGG (via LAX), $685 (MC), 7300 MQMs, $609 MQDs, just over 1 hour in OGG, return to AUS early afternoon on Dec. 27
Dec 28, AUS-ATL-SLC-OGG-LAX-SLC-AUS, $837 (MC), about 9400 MQMs, $750, MQDs, 2 hours in OGG, return to AUS early afternoon on Dec 29
For the OGG runs, just use normal Delta search AUS-OGG using the same date for departure and return, select the desired routing

Delta.com search - GRR-OGG, same departure and return date, select routing GRR-DTW-SEA-OGG-SEA-DTW-GRR to get the MQMs quoted, other departure dates with similar prices available

e.g. Dec 30, ATL-OGG, $737 (BE), about 10,800 MQMs (routing: atl--lax-slc-ogg-slc-lax-atl), about 1 hour in OGG, arrive back in ATL mid-afternoon Dec. 31
Use normal Delta flexible date search ATL-OGG with the same date for departure and return, select the desired routing

Hi @canuck_traveler thanks so much for the reply!
I'm curious ... how do you find the MQM/MQD calculations for these Aeromexico flights? That's my biggest challenge.

Using Unofficial Skymiles Calculator for mileage flown for - DCA-MSP-MEX-ATL-BWI, you get 4651 miles. MQD = 4651 x 0.4 = 1860; MQM = 4651 x 1.5 = 6976 (rounded down to 6900 )
These are of course estimates as Delta determines the amounts you get (but are close enough.)
