For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.

----

NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----

*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")

NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

DL status.

Departure Airport: Pensacola PNS
Miles needed: as many as possible.
Required spend/budget: $700-1000
Available travel days: anytime/ weekends

I want to try to get my first status with delta and will like to start doing some mile runs. Atlanta is not far from home and I can position there. If I could get some ideas of how can I accumulate a lot of miles within my budgeted amount. Appreciate your help and ideas.

Thanks canuck_traveler for all your help. one question - if i go to other sites like KLM and other partner sites, I can find other trips/routes that look promising, but i don't see any fare class listed. So i can't really determine Delta MQMs as class (forget any bonus) seems to be part of the computation when i use the "unofficial skymiles calculator" - i see fares on google too, that sound appealing, but they direct to partner sites and i don't see the fare code - any suggestions? Simple KLM example no offered on Delta site: Is there a minimum fare class i can assume?

What flights have you found when looking?
How far away from status are you now?
If starting from a low balance you may not get status.
Anyway will it be value for money? What benefit do you expect DL status to give you?

For KLM economy flights, it looks all economy fare classes get 100% MQM (except for Class "O" - reward bookings)

DL status

I have found a few trips to Miami and Chicago. Pensacola is a small airport and don't have many direct flights to major airports. I was looking to quickly start booking flights starting January to make status for 2021. The benefits I will like to enjoy with DL is mostly upgrades. Will appreciate your ideas.

You'll have to decide for yourself if Silver (if that's what you're aiming for) is worth it. Your chances of getting upgraded to First as a Silver out of ATL are close to zero; you might get a seat in C+ 5-10% of the time. As an example, my flight tomorrow has 16 on the waitlist for C+ (3 seats available, middle seats only) and 41 on the waitlist for First (2 seats available).

Your $1000 might be better used to buy First/C+ seats outright, or upgrade for $ when offered. If you frequently check bags, look into the credit cards or just pay for the bags out of the $1000 you will save by not chasing status.

Thanks again - where did you find this chart? I appreciate all the help and I am hoping to continue hunting on something that fits me best without having to keep asking as others need help too.

If I depart on a flight on Dec 31st but it does not arrive until January 1st, would that flight get credited to 2019 or 2020 medallion qualifications?

The chart for all the partners can be found on the Delta website at: https://www.delta.com/ca/en/skymiles...rline-partners

If the flight starts in 2019, it will get credited to 2019.
