purchase declined

WM purchase for $996.xx declined on both Sat and Sun. check account online. it shows active. anyone has same experience?

Update on 6/24. called the CS this morning, and be told that my account is closed due to load/unload(I have been doing $4-5K VR loading a month and unloading at WM, no other purchase). She has opened my account for 48 hours for me to take the money out. I am thinking of CA at bank. can I load more VR and CA while the account is in special situation? Thanks

Interesting that they seem to see a kiosk transaction as an unload or ATM like rather than just a regular debit transaction. I was wondering 'if unloading via as a debit card to GB via WM kiosk would mitigate the shutdown risk compared to ACH as it should look like a purchase?'. MVD in Incomm and GB is MetaBank so they should each only see 1 side of the transaction. Anyone have experience with this?

Another idea I'm mulling (which will add cost, but if it extends the life of my MVD it would be worth it) is to artificially add some high spend such as $1,007.9 spend at our favorite pharmacy. This way the card looks like it is being used (and they get their cut which is what they care about).

My first MVD did have a couple of high spend transactions early on and when others were getting shutdown I was able to keep going for a couple more months and I wondered if this was why.

why not? I loaded $1k more, then headed to the bank, did a CA without any problem. Actually I am thinking of doing again tomorrow since I have 48 hours before the account is closed. anybody had experience on utilizing the final 48 hours? Thanks

Go for it. What's the worst that could happen? They can't keep your money.

Yes, they can hold your money for few months to investigate, for few points? not worth it. there are many alternate methods to mfg points. If you sense a problem, quickly move on. Do not try to squeeze the last drop. 'Never put good money into bad money' be wise

LoL, sure... in theory. In pratice, they were going to close the account and issue a check anyway. So what's worst gonna happend? They close the account before 48 hours and send you a check? :) Check previous reports in this thread to see what actually happened with "48-hours" accounts.

I wish I could get more use out of this card rather than load/unload. If I could load GB or BB, I would be happy. I wonder if loading less than 500 extends the life. I have ample access to VRs, so I wish I could take advantage of this fact.

I never knew you can load MVD in walmart with a "Fee".
what is the maximum to load MVD in walmart for that fee?
$500?

Unfortunately, it's maxed at $500 - would love to be able to load $1,000 to save $4 in fees

Did you try this at the kiosk, money center, or cashier? I'm curious if things changed, since my not-real-recent experience differs at a kiosk.

You do save some $$, plus a trip to the bank to CA, by loading MVD onto GB (or BB) at Walmart

Just did $2,000 at the "10 item or less" register (two, $1000 loads) and checked MVD website to see .50 each transaction. The same $2000 CA at BOA would have cost me $1.95, plus the drive and waiting in line at the bank. Now I can bill-pay the money out of GB, pay the mortgage or paypal the money back into my checking account (via non-GB registered email address). The ultimate cost of those two VR became $8.9 which is still better than $9.85 (plus trip to bank). So all in all not too bad. I don't plan on doing this all the time but I was curious to see if it worked.
