Hi everyone! I am brand new to travel hacking and this is my first post on FlyerTalk. I hope someone can help me!
I've recently opened up a Bluebird account with the intent of putting money from the Vanilla Reloadable Cards in it. I went to CVS but I think I bought the wrong card :( I have the MyVanilla Personal Reloadable Prepaid Card and can't figure out for the life of me how to add it to Bluebird. I had to sign up for an account at myvanilladebitcard.com, and then they said they'd send me a permanent card in the mail. I'm pretty sure I got the wrong vanilla card to use with Bluebird. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am really frustrated and don't know what to do. How do I get my money off of this card?? Thank you in advance for any help you can give! Jessica I did the same thing when I first started the VR thing...bought the wrong card. But, now have 3 of them. I've had them for a while so not quite sure when I was able to select a pin but I'm pretty sure you'll have to wait for the permanent card to arrive. You could call the 800 number on the back, maybe they can assist. Register the temporary card and the permanent one should arrive in a week or so. Then try to load to BB (or Cash advance @ bank, or MO etc.) Keep in mind you get charged .50 each time you use the card or $1.95 for a Cash Advance. |
Does the MyVanilla card allow ATM withdrawals? If so, pay the ATM Fee and chalk it up to a lesson learned. For future reference, you don't want anything that says My Vanilla on it. It should say Prepaid Reload (not reloadable). Poke around the threads...plenty of help here.

This thread has 1000 posts detailing what you can and can't do with your MyVanilla card. For the future, know what you're doing and what you're buying before doing manufactured spending

In those 1000+ posts most of the questions and answers are repeated over and over again and in circles. The original poster can keep on adding the vital info in his post so those Qs and A are not repeated, and save everyone's time. (just my suggestion)

Just wondering wasn't the CA limited to 3k/day? why do ppl want to withdraw 2k, 2.5k and 1k? And when u ask for CA do you ask the amount you have in the card -$1.95?

I just got my MVD permanent card. I know from reading this thread that 800 is the limit for WM MO. Can anyone pl. confirm what is the amount for bill pay? I want to see if I can load my MVD and do bill pays at WM. Think it will be a CA(1.95 fee).
