If you can find a payee where the charge is $1, then it could be slightly better than CA. At $1.88 + $.50 it works out to higher fee than CA. Also, I would not recommend billpay amounts over $2000. I did $2500 and the clerk had to ask for my address, social security # and profession(?). It all seemed to be prompts from the screen, not an overzealous WM employee.

A bit surprising - the pattern seems safe. On the other hand, MVD is only marginally better than GB/GD so they quickly crack the whip. Frankly I'm surprised that I survived the April purges.

Here's my data...

Card number 1- loaded up to about 8K, then unloaded/loaded nearly daily (ATM) for a week, had been mostly unloading, and then got shut down after 6 weeks of use or so.

Card number 2- straight loaded up to about 5K, unloaded/loaded nearly daily (ATM), when card 1 got shut down I did cash advance for remaining amount on this card too, that appears to have shut it down.

Card number 3- I've loaded about 3K on. Have yet to unload. Assuming I continue to have access to beans (experiencing other CVS issue), I will load it up to the max before unloading.


In my limited experience, loading is safe, unloading isn't. So maybe can do 10K if you aren't in it for the long term and don't have cash flow issues.

is your ATM free? otherwise doing CA for large amount at the bank is much better and fast. unless you like keep the card alive.

I am pretty sure it does not make a difference - I selected "WM Money Card".

Unfortunately, at least in my area, $500 with $3.74 fee is max load, both in kiosk and cashier/ money center.

If we did that we would simply be robbing you of the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat...

My OD has MVD. Can I buy 10 of them, walk to Walmart and buy MO paying $495.50 from each card? Is the pIN works the same as regula Vanilla card?

cant remember but i think pin is set up on online registration

I don't believe you can set PIN for temp MVD cards. But things might have changed since I last checked a few months ago. You can check again and please report back.
