You're welcome. It's not always clear which cards process as debit cards or credit cards, even after reading through these threads.

Better deal if you're getting a bonus for VRs.

(Apparently $600 max per transaction, so not ideal for making large payments)

I've heard of more and more problems with this approach. If you bank at any of these banks, they could flag your accounts if you have too many failed CAs.

Might just be best to spend the MVD quickly. You don't want the funds to get locked at vanilla.

I've done up to $1400 with no problem and consistently make transactions > $600.

I have a feeling it has everything to do with how the teller enters the transaction and not necessarily the bank - I think if you are being asked to enter a PIN it looks like an ATM transaction to MVD and that has a $400 limit.

I have received cash ($1000) from Wells Fargo many times, along with Citibank and Union Bank. You need to ask for a "cash advance". There is no PIN required, and they should not ask for one.

MVD Funding Sources

I'm looking around for ways to fund my MVD besides VR cards at CVS.

Today I tried two Family Dollar locations. Last time I was in was with Bluebird and the register would not recognize Bluebird. The register did recognize MVD just fine but was coded to not accept credit cards. Attempted both Visa and Mastercard. It was the same at both stores I visited.

Dollar General is my next attempt.

It's possible they are limiting the amounts for paperwork purposes-as in not wanting to report you for suspicious activity that should auto-kick in at $2k. But note they can report any suspicious activity for any amount at anytime.

That's odd. It always works for me at BoA. I did this about 8-9 times for the last 3 months.

I've never done over $1k as I am not a customer of the banks I frequent. However, a couple of the banks have made it clear that I could go higher if I were to become a customer.
