Do they make much from your MVD usage patterns ?

They make TONS through my VR purchasing patterns.

Edit: Just to be clear, sometimes in excess of $200/month in the VR purchases alone.

Does anyone care to do the math to figure out how much money is needed to make $2400 a year at 1.1% APY?

By "They" do you mean Walgreens or CVS ?

bobfather Mar 8, 2013 12:37 pm

By "they" I mean Incomm, the people that issue VRs and Bancorp, the company that hires them to do so.

Incomm and Bancorp make money off my VR fees as if I was letting $250k sit in a Vanilla account doing nothing.

If anything, the retailers are the big losers. It's almost certain that their kickback (if it even exists) is less than the CC transaction fee.

Given these numbers, I believe you would be crazy to think Incomm and Bancorp care about my CA activity.

Bobfather, use 'quote' feature every time you respond, so that we know what are you referring to.

Maybe they care a little. I thought they share in a slice of the transaction cost for purchases. I dont know this but this was my assumption.

Since the 2 year treasury rate is around 0.25%, you are actually letting over a million imaginary dollars sit in a Vanilla account

it is apparent you do not understand how this relationship works which nullifies the rest of your reasoning.
