Honestly, I don't think this deal was killed (if in fact it is killed) by too much publicity. I think the problem is that it was scalable to infinity.

I was just working towards that goal :D

I'm still active and have been doing mostly CAs. I've only had the card for 4 months but usually average about $4K a month... until this month where I've actually stepped it up to closer to $8K... so far so good but who knows how long it stays that way.

Do we know how many people are really having their accounts frozen though? I've only seen a handful on here. If everyone who had ever done a CA had their account frozen that would be one thing...

My guess-and it is a guess-is the financial reviews from reporting suspicious activity is creating so much paperwork and man hours they are going to cut those that are creating the headaches, which would be alot of people in this thread.

So my wife and I both have an MVD card. I use it for occasional large purchases as a good way of liquidating VRs. I have also used it a few times to get MOs.

When logging into my account over the weekend, the account status has now gone from "active" to "on hold". I called Incomm, who requested identity verifying information that would be sent to their compliance department for review. I sent them my Drivers License and SS Card as the two methods of verifying.

The CSR made mention of my high volume of load/unloads and said that may be an indication as to why they are reviewing the account. CSR also said that the review will take up to a week. So it looks like my money is being held for at least a week and possibly quite longer if they close my account and eventually get around to issuing a check. Does not bode well for this particular method. I'll report any updates.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Why is this such a surprise to anyone?? I posted a thread about Netspend Cards and MIO Cards being closed (also part of INCOMM) and then Green Dot same thing, even the blogs have posted this. Then for a couple weeks earlier in this thread SEVERAL of us said please let this thread die and yet posts were removed and edited and one would have hoped that would help but NO people had to keep chiming in some comment or whatever and NOW Surprise well get a good seat and wait 6-8 weeks for a check for your refund MAYBE LONGER

That was the beginning of the downhill. I gave it a week but it seems it has gone past that. Great while it lasted and a great find by dansdeals.

Exactly but some people even when it is mentioned just 1 or 2 posts above they have to say something about something anyway. These are the type of people that attorneys hate since they just don't get the part about the right to remain silent.

"Some retailers have the ability to apply your funds directly at the register" - such as?

Wondering if you can consolidate temporary MVDs to an existing (permanent) card. Also if anyone has tried to ACH in or out.

Yes...my card, that I got in mid-February, is on HOLD since last Friday.
(Sent information, as requested.)

Did just one CA.

I have never done a MO.

No MOs. Only CAs. Pretty sure I adhered to the full terms. Still locked.

I've always preached that if you work these angles, you have to be prepared for your money to get held for an indefinite period. I'm now in that position. It's been a week, and there's no end in sight. They've got my money, and they won't tell me when I might see a resolution.

So I wait . . .

I have done multiple CAs during last few months, no hold on my account.
