Suggestions based on my discussion with the surprisingly nice CSR:

1. Keep WM purchases "not huge" - I guess that would be < 1000, but I don't know what they threshold is.
2. Don't immediately load/unload - Let the funds simmer. I was previously waiting a week or so and screwed up last week by forgetting.

I've done both the suggested and still got shut down. Unfortunately, the CSRs are pretty clueless. Nice, but clueless.

I can't figure this out as well.

I got my first card in Feb and loaded almost 10K in Feb and Mar. I never used to cash out right away but let it stay for 2-3 weeks and did CA. Once they started the shutdown, I completely stopped it in May. I am still active and getting back to MVD now since other great deals are gone now.

Got one for my wife and loaded less than 10K in Apr and stopped using it. Again CA'ed most of the amount. That account is still active as well and going to start using it now.

This time too, I am going to follow the pattern of leaving funds for a few weeks after each load and see how it goes.

2 questions for those that have been shut down:
1. I was shut down last Thursday. I was not able to log into my account online etc. I called and had it opened for 48 hours. 4 days later I can log in and see my "active" account with just a few dollars left in it. Am I closed, or should I continue to use?

2. Once shut down, has anyone had success applying for a new card? The CSR said I could get another one, but because of question #1 I'm not sure what to do.

How long to get a check?
 
Everyone hear seems to just CA advance once the account is closed...has anyone actually gotten a check?

How long has that taken? Did you have to keep calling? Did they send it automatically?

Rouhgly 3 weeks on average for me, but it seemed like every check has had my address typo'd someplace - wrong house number, wrong state! (luckily correct zip code), street name misspelled... you can only imagine their robust internal process.
