Here's a listing of the various debit card error codes and their meanings.

Anybody been shutdown while having a high balance? My account is still active, but I've been slowing withdrawing the 10k of VRs that I loaded.

You should be fine as long as you move slowly.

The highest estimated income tax payment I have done is $5k, no issues. Has anyone done a higher amount? Any issues at all?

Can you open another MVD after being shut down?

chongwj8 Sep 5, 2013 11:39 am

Funny thing happened to my MVD. Funded $500 2 months ago, then CA out at bank for 499.50. Thought there's 50c for transaction. It went through. Got money then couldn't login to MVD, I thought they shut me down.

Today I was able to log back in and saw the bank actually charge another 1.95 on top of 50c fee, so it actually show negative balance on the card now. Should I just ignore it?

I was shut down got another, then that was shut down, opened another in my wife's name...was turned down twice for cash advances at wells fargo cause the card is not in my name, so now I use it to buy money orders.

I had no prob at all getting CA at wells, noname card, registered to my SO name.

But they are screwing things up.

For the second time I was unable to register MVD and had to call and convert it into the GC. "We were not able to electronically identify you.."
Wasted $500 in AP instead of depositing this into my wf account.

I've started using this product only to make mins (got a couple too many cards last AOR).

-I bought several of the starter cards... is it true that I need to wait for the permanent cards to consolidate the balances?
-Other than the reload cards, any other way to fund these? My local pharma chain doesn't have any reloads ever but they have a ton of the starters.
-I don't want to go to the bank to deal with the cash advance on a blank card... not worth it on many levels. Anyone have experience getting starters, consolidating the money, then cancelling them over and over?
-Does MVD send you a permanent card when you activate the starter? If so, how do you bypass the "3 card" limit? Keep cancelling them once you get the money out?

Thanks.

Found out the same way. I'll bet that many people who have been shut down really just went negative for the same reason, and when you go negative, it shuts you out of your account (logging in online, etc.) but has *not* banned you. You just need to add funds to get positive and it will be fine again. I just leave $10 extra in there each time I do a CA just to be sure it won't go negative when fees hit later.

They charge you like $3.95 in 3 months for the "inactivity".

I am done dealing w/them.

Two times "we can't identify you electronically.." "we will convert to the gift card"

Too much for me.

MVDs can go to hell. Thank you MVD for $3500 in MS.

I don't understand the issue folks are having w/MVD. I started using BB but the CA feature of MVD is simply much easier. Buy VR's, put them on my MVD, go to Chase, WF, BoA, etc. & take out $2,500 a day in cash & deposit same amount into my bank account. I acknowledge the $1.95 on CA so I always request an amount less the fee. For example I'll give the teller $2 & request $2,498 so she'll give me 25 $100 bills. All good & I move on. What's the issue? Maybe I'm not actively active enough to warrant special focus/attention? I only use the MVD for initial spend to get the miles premium. I never continue afterwards. Thx everyone! :)
