It looks like even just quick loads (2+ in succession) can trigger lockdowns now before you've even decided how to spend it. The rep told me 2 VR loads within minutes of each other is precisely what caused my latest card hold, before I had even done anything to cash out lol.

Banksters back in town! How many times U intend to go through hold/reopen process?

IMO, I don't think any one (including myself, including the reps we talk to) know what triggers a hold and everyone is just guessing. I now have 4 MVD cards and every time I've loaded (twice per week per card) have been quick succession loads with multiple VRs totaling 2,000 or 2,500 depending on what I had at the time. Only one of my 3 cards have received a hold yet. FWIW, it was the card that I had done the most CAs on, but I have no idea what triggered it and neither did the rep. We're all just throwing darts in the dark.

Does anyone know if someone has had a total of two cards (one "on hold," and another that was shut down), if they could apply for another permanent MVD? This may be poking a dragon in the eye, but was hoping someone had direct experience. TIA.

Deep in this thread I remember lots of reports of opening cards #2 and #3 after/during AA. Apparently the cards are treated completely independently. I'm more hazy on whether you can open a "new" #3 after a final and complete account closure, but I seem to recall one or two reports of success. That was back during the summer closures though and Incomm seems to be a pretty fast-moving operation. They've changed the telephone prompts just over the course of the 2 weeks I've been calling. And of course the VR's+receipts thing is new as well.

So you have 4 permanent cards via your SS?

did a $8K CA this morning. the account is closed once I got home to check.
still have one card left (the first one was closed in Summer). Going forward, what is the best way to use it?

You already know the answer to that :)

The writing is on the wall. Go out in a blaze of glory!

I still have one card left and that is my plan. My only fear is that the card is closed between the time I load my last VR and the time the bank teller swipes it for a CA and they make me sing for my funds.

At least when I was shut by GB, they allowed me to spend it out without any issues.

I have a couple of options.

A couple of bluebirds, a couple of AMEX prepaids, a couple of amazon payments, a couple of AMEX for target, a couple of fee-free ATM's, a couple of WM moneycenters, a couple of grocery stores, more than a couple of local bank accounts. Actually, GB & MVD were minor players. I like to spread things around.

All options and tools that I use have been discussed at length.

Wow, of all options what is the order of your preference based on convenience, ease and reliability? I only use AP and BB. Which one U suggest me to replace MVD? What other program holds up your funds and asks to fax Dr/lc, SS card, receipts and copies of VR?

When I called about my Serve account having issues after attempting to link my MVD, a rep successfully added it manually.

I agree. I just did 5 x $500 VR loads today (seconds between each) and a CA for $2K on the nose. Card still active. Larger CAs or a longer history could raise the sensitivity bar.

Do you guys store packaging? I don't. Never did.
But if an IRS agent will indeed show up at your door then I am not sure exactly how you are planning to show that you've bought that "debit/gift" card with "that receipt" if all the associated numbers on the receipt are on the package, not the actual card.

My account was locked for three days and reopened after I sent my DL and the receipt+VRs for the last two reloads. The status is "spend down". May I ask if it means that I have 72 hours to (reload and) and CA before final closure? The IC agent I talked with three days ago didn't mention the 72 hours to spend down.

Yes, U have too much money in MVD and is considered to be 'suspicious' which mimic a type of fraud activity. The CIP makes it mandatory for a bank to take proper steps.
