I remember that I could CA at Chase, but I do not remember if I can do any bill pay, and there is nothing on the site about fees or free ATM withdrawals, only that the limit is $400 a day for a withdrawal. Needs a wiki at the top for terms!! Read about 50 pages so far before thinking about loading VR's and looks like I can only load $500 a day?

Interesting! I am putting away my Vanilla Debit card to collect dust until they put their act together! (Greed, the root of all evil and trouble) I will rely on BB and AP

What did you find out?

There seems to be different kinds of Spend Down mode. My card has acted no differently than an Active card since the change in status. That said, I haven't let any loads sit on the card for more than 30 minutes since I went SD. I've kept a balance of < $50 but > $0 at all times after CA.

So for you that are unloading asap after a load, are you doing this via ATM, CA, or MO? I am so used to Serve and BB I need a tune up on this one!! That will teach me to buy $15K in Gift cards in a month!!

My last two cycles I loaded $2k in the lobby of BoA, walked over to the counter and ran the CA. Funds sat there for maybe 6 minutes max. I got burned with my account frozen within ~30 minutes between loading at home and walking to WM to BP, not making that mistake again. Thought I'd never use the card again, but this is the best way I know of to pay <1%, at this volume.

Is your account still frozen? Anyone had to file a case in small claims court?

Sounds like the "beat em to the punch right before they knock you out" strategy. I prefer rope-a-dope.

I got one of my cards put into spend down mode. CSR was pretty unhelpful. I asked them if it was possible to get a check and the sad NO. And if you loose the temp card (didn't send a permanent card before shutdown) you lose all your money. Total BS as a letter to their 'compliance dept' will sort that out but I'd like to get options on how best to proceed. Cash advancing a temp card is a no good as fraud is big concern with banks in my neck of the woods.

First time I've had to deal with buffoonery like this. If anyone have and ideas please let me know (PM if need be).

TIA

Data Point

I have had 3 MVD for about a year. Running approx. 2k per month through each and withdrawing via a money order at WM. 2 of my cards have been put on hold (frozen) this week. They had to freeze the account to protect me from fraud.;) They like to have you then email them a long list of info (hoping some of it's gone). They then state that they did not receive the email for the first 3 phone calls. Amazingly on the 4th, voila, it's all there but now the account has to go to compliance. I think the rope a dope comment is more appropriate for dealing with incomm. I should probably load and unload my remaining card tomorrow but hope springs eternal!

Can you provide the list of info that they requested, such that we can be prepared and start saving it? Anything besides receipts and fronts/backs of VR cards used to load?

Thanks in advance.

After last load of $1K on one of these cards, I couldn't login anymore on that account (I can on other two). Called today and was told that "bank" requested to converted this account to "unregistered" account that means I cannot use it anymore as debit. I will not get on-line access to my account either.

Is it a new policy? I read here that their's policy is to ask for ID, SSN and VR's receipts to unlock account.

Update: even if CSR told me that card does not work as debit, it indeed does. Liquidated yesterday via BP.
