I had three cards where $4000 sat on each for about two weeks. After my loop of grocery store MOs, they are all inactive. Sadly, my bad math left $19 on one of them, so I might have to call.

I let mine sit for a few weeks and they still shut me down. (after jumping through all their ID hoops to boot).

Of course I'll file a complaint with FDIC! There was nothing in their TOS that prohibited me from loading and unloading the way I did. They allow a $2,500 load a day and $10,000 a week but they shut me down for much less than that?

I think you should ask for a check for the 40 cents, and let them know your going to file a FDIC complaint if they don't overnight it. Unless they can show you in the terms and conditions where you were not using the card as intended. Just my 2 cents.

Ignore it. Load up some more and CA out.

I just called MVD and they said I didn't use the card as intended and I should spend my remaining 40 cents and the card will be shut down. How do I spend 40 cents if the purchase fee is 50 cents? ;-)

Instead, if U load/unload again what can happen? some are doing....If U are bold enough to take risk and get repeated shut down until they close your account and send U the final check.....Anyone had to file a court case to get the final Check?

Half were used for ~1k single debit a day, 2-3 times a week, for 10K a month. They are below 44k to date, active, no problems. Half were used for 2.5k single debit a day, 1-2 times a week for 10k a month. They are below 40k to date, active, no problems. I pushed one MVD and did 1k and 2k debits over several days to reach 8k (edited - previous 6k was wrong) in one week. It was immediately shut down but the card still loads and debits out. I will try to test the 45k year limit. No ca on any of these cards. All debits were at 3 different chains, sometimes different stores in each chain. I loaded and unloaded almost always on the same day, often within 30 minutes. Sometimes I let the balance sit a few days. I made no other small debits. So my successful strategy is to keep at 2.5k debits or less, no more than 5k debits per week, 10k per month. Over easy. Hope this helps someone.

Since you're so close to the $45k annual limit, I will be very interested in what you learn about testing that limit. Clearly MVD does not like the CA strategy. But a limit of $45k/yr on debit transactions (ie, MOs), hampers the usefulness of this product, at least for large scalability.

Also should be able to test the rolling 12 months vs the calendar 12 months for the $45k.

What chains did you use for unloading?

Another data point. Assuming Sun to Sat for a week, the 10k per week limit does not seem to include the $0.50 debit fees. I have many weeks where I go over 10k with fees but stay under 10k excluding fees.

Did you mean to put "months" instead of "weeks" in your last post?

I can report that I've done > $63k in CAs on a single card this calendar year (actually, since September) and I have not yet been shut down. I've also broken the daily/weekly/monthly withdrawal limits. I have no doubt that I will be shut down soon, but clearly the limits are not being strictly enforced up front.
