To load using a credit card, aka you have to buy another MVD card to load a different VR card, so its 3.95 per $500...right?

Put a different way, can I load a MVD card with another MVD card? Or is there another way using a credit card that is easier once I get the perm card?

My card status is now 'Lost or Stolen', is it considered as being shutdown?

Never mind. Was able to log in now and all three card show as "active". :D

I've had this happen twice for no good reason. If you can read the font 1 sized text for the phone number on the back of the card you can call in and automatically select 'not stolen' and it will reset to active.

Why not be the guinea pig for all of us and go for a new card? Just load it really small, say $20 then register it.

1) You cannot load MVD with a credit card. You can buy a temp MVD with your credit card.

2) Why would you want to load an MVD with another MVD? There is no benefit to it even if you can.

Maybe I'm confusing myself...I used a credit card to by the initial MVD card, how do I keep loading this card (eventually the perm one they send in the mail) with a credit card then?

Nope. Load with VR or pay a fee at WM MC (just under $3, I think).

Totally thought I'd been caught in a sweep as my card was declined doing a CA. However it was the 'lost card' status again, which I reset with a call and auto prompt.

OK. You buy temp MVD only one time (per that account), then you got your permanent card.
Further you are buying Vanilla Reload cards (not temporary My Vanilla cards) to load your permanent MVD card.

I know, I know, I am new to MS. I post mostly about hotels and help others choose the right ones.

I understand that you buy Vanilla Reload cards, but those are impossible to find near me. Also, no walmart in Boston. What is left for options?

Keep checking CVS. The stores near me ran out for two weeks, then got restocked with a new printing (slightly different design, pin numbers starting with 7).

I don't know how else to put this: if you live in or near Boston, Vanilla Reload cards are not impossible to find near you (unless you mean walking distance or something). I have personally bought VR at both Downtown Crossing CVS locations, and Central Square CVS. Tons and tons in stock, zero problem paying with credit card, in and out in minutes. I don't know the situation in the suburbs, but as far as I can tell New England is some kind of MS paradise: CVS on every corner and 90% of them are overflowing with VR & PP. True a very small minority still have the "old" gift card racks, and the others are occasionally picked clean, but again, since they have locations everywhere, just walk a block or two in any direction.
