Same issue for me today too. I loaded $2500 over a period of 5 days. I did a BP at walmart last night for $2495. I cannot login to my account now. Even if I change the password, it allows me to change it but cannot login (just says incorrect username/password combo).
Oh well, just have to get the last $3 or so off the card and to move onto the next prepaid card. I just today CA'd #3 to zero balance (incl. the $1.95 CA fee), and will close out #2 tomorrow for the final $1999. MVD was good while it last.. I only got about 4 months out of 'em, but pushed at least $15-20k through each one. Onward! Anyone who was shut down early in the MVD game able to get a new card(s) going after a wait period? i.e. maybe in 6 months go 'round the carousel again?? |

Wow that IS very delayed. However, may be due to the inclement weather, depending on what part of the country you live in.
And I see it's Chicago, so this is very possible! So far no problem using the temps, but I'll be stuck when the spend down hits. I'm just loading low and getting the money off the card quickly Thanks. About this question I've asked before. Is the $9,999 limit per card or per SS#. I can experiment to find out, but curious. |

Similar behavior and circumstances, and my 2nd and 3rd cards went into spend down mode this week. Bleh!

I was shut down after about a month. Applied for a new card the same day that my first one was put in spend down mode. I was approved and my card should be here any day now.
From what I learned you can have up to three MVD cards. So.. if you only had one shut down, getting two more should be easy. I'm wondering what happens after MVD shuts down all three? |
So one of my MVD got put into spend down mode with no notification (which seems common) and today I tried to CA out my balance...minus leaving $5 room for the CA fee and a little extra buffer. Unfortunately, the card was declined at my bank twice. If you get put into Spend Down mode, do you have to call InComm to get them to release the funds? From what I've read on this thread, people seem to still be able to access their funds and withdraw funds from a MVD in Spend Down mode without having to get it cleared/call in.
Anyone have a similar experience/problem? Would love any advice. Thanks! |
When did the daily limit for debit purchase change from $5k to $3k? I paid my property taxes of $4k last year and it went through. Tried to pay it today for same amount and it was denied. CSR stated that the limit has always been $3k!?

What banks were used to Cash Advance a temp card? |

If you're looking for rhyme or reason, good luck, as I think most of us have no idea why/what/how either. |

Called to find out what the issue was and told in essence I was shutdown and could not load any more onto card. Unlike some of the other posters, this was the card of last resort to use to liquidate VR's. That is to say would only use this if the normal store I utilize were out of 500$ gift cards, I would get VR's and load MVD after capped out on BB. Was curious to know if, being I only had one card, if I will get auto closed registering a new card in a week or so. As said above, good while it lasted, Onward! |
Ha. Same scenario for me. But it seems odd as I played this card like I knew I was going to get shutdown. I loaded $2500 at the beginning of Feb, withdrew a few days later via CA. Then loaded another $2500 a few days later and repeated the loads and USPS Money Orders five times throughout the month. I find it odd that I got shutdown towards the end of the month. Is there a check at a date towards the end of months? When I called to check the status, I was told I was misusing a financial instrument.
I found that the CA limit seemed to be $2500 per month. As after the first CA I was declined every time. Called and was told "over the counter" cash limit was $2500. Also, found $3K limit for purchases / day. Also, seems the fee I was charged at USPS for $2500 MO was $1.95. One thing I also found, was at my Post Office, the lady didnt even ask for ID or look at the card, therefore im going to try using temp cards there with a PIN. They dont seem to care about anything other than a PIN. |

I'm wondering what happens after MVD shuts down all three? I called (just mostly curious to hear the BS story), and they tried to reset my password several times. Never said boo about spend-down mode... but from FT, I know the symptoms. I CA'd both cards without issues at my bank (~$990 on one card, and just under $4k on the other, in two CA's). |

Cards 6,7,8 all went into SD mode for me this past week. I know I can go ahead and sign up for more, but I think I'm officially calling it quits on MVD once I liquidate my remaining funds. It's just getting too tedious. When I was able to CA $9,999 at a time, it was worth it. But CAs take the bank tellers forever to process and so at $2,500 max a pop it's not worth the time for me anymore.

cards with a billpay feature are sooo much easier to use...
