Honestly I am not sure there is any trick. My first MVD got shutdown (spend down) after about three weeks and $2500 of loads and about $2350 of unloads. I never loaded more than $500 a day. Only did MOs (@WM) and legit purchases (a couple), always left money on the card and let the money "age" (i.e., loaded and left on card for days to weeks before unloading). Didn't make a difference. I agree with others I don't think there is a secret sauce. At least when I was put in spendown I could easily clear the rest of my balance easily.

Personally I wonder if they look at new cards more closely as my shutdown seems at the low end of what folks have done recently. I think either take it easy at first or hit hard and fast but who knows. Just a random guess.

If I did not know the one weird old trick to keeping MVD alive, then I would agree with you that there is no trick. But since I know the weird trick, I would have to disagree. Only 45 people know the weird old trick, some of whom are currently at CVS or Walmart.

Aren't you the same one who implied there is a trick to getting MO's at WM without any fees?

All you have to do is count the number of people who know your trick..

If it is more than 45 or less than 45, it's obviously not the same one. ;)

When posters refer to “per month” is the reference to a calendar month or a rolling 30 days? MVD shows your account on a calendar month basis, but are limits also based on a calendar month? Thanks for your input.

matching perm card with temp card

With 3 temp cards, each with an online account, how do I tell which account a perm card (new number) is for?

if you used the same SS# for all 3 accts then it doesnt mater much as your days are surely very limited before being shut down.If you used more then 1 email address they all will have been changed to the last address inputted

Thanks craz. Sounds like I've batted two strikes before the first pitch. Actually one temp was GFs SSN. This game does sound like it will get interesting ;)

So Vanilla Visa has nuked my cards. So I said screw it I'll just start new ones. So far what I've been doing is buying a new Debit and load it same day with $1500 more ($2k) then immediately go to get MO's. I have been able to use each card about three times (three days in a row) before I can't load anymore.

Was thinking of shifting to Green Dot for a bit. Are the GD as easy to do as VV? Are you able to buy MO's with them at a certain big box store too?

My 3rd card got shutdown last week. I went very slow on it, did less than 10k over 2 months and it didn't matter. I did all CAs. When I called , I was told I was in spend down mode and they didn't bother to ask me to send in info. I did a CA for the remaining amount.

I got one at CVS a few days ago and registered it online. The registration went through, but I never got anything else. Am I supposed to receive a permanent card in the mail, or is this it?
