Yes, this helps a lot, thanks. In my words, I want to get into the habit of setting the same PIN on both the temp card (at ATM) and the perm card (online), so I can MO from either card.

If you register the temp online , you set a pin and that same pin will be transferred over to the permanent card . No different then when your present CC is approaching its exp date the bank sends you a new CC and you dont have to redo the pin you had from the 1st one, its already associated with the new CC

And finally you conclude?

You need to register the card. (This is the part I forgot to express!)

It's best to just register entirely online prior to doing any activity via ATM or MO. That way everything is synced and if there is a problem I have an account I can verify how the transaction went through, etc.

Sounds like the voice of experience. Healthy habits to follow my friend!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been awarded the coveted "Spend Down" status sometime between my last posts here and whenever this morning.

I had a VR to load this morning which was rejected so that I checked my account. I have a $10.65 balance. How is that liquidated? My understanding is that they charge fee to close the card. Does that mean I am getting a $.65 check?

Or can I go to a local retailer, load a branded GC with $10.15 and be charged the $.50 fee and sing, "nah, nah, nah nah; nah, nah, nah, nah; hey, hey, hey, Goood-bye!!"

I wonder if somebody there monitors the boards here? :D Probably more like a program that monitors for the "ATM withdrawal" action instead.

TIA. I'm not sure I'm unhappy about this, actually.

I just got declined again. Here's my chain of events:

Slowly load up over 5k on card as my first ever transactions.

Sunday 11am - attempt to CA 5k, gets declined, then I read about new limits.
Sunday 12pm - CA 2.5k successful
Monday 1pm - CA for 2.5k is declined
Thursday 12pm - CA for 2.5k is declined

Nothing was done in between. There is enough money in my account and I am not in spend down mode - card still says "active" when I login online. I haven't seen any other reports of declines for the level of activity I am doing so I'm not sure what's going on. I guess I'll be trying MOs next.

The cash advance limit is $2500 per week. You just need to wait longer.

Im stumped unless since last Thurs @ 12pm have you unloaded a total of $8k including Suns 2.5k? just a thought if maybe they are counting all unloads towards the max amounts now

healthnut Feb 27, 2014 5:17 pm

The CA limit is $2.5k/day as far as I'm concerned... In the terms and conditions as this too...

Thanks for clarifying.

I'm assuming there has to be some new limits as well. $2.5 CA on Monday, and denied yesterday and today on another $2.5 CA, but account still active so just used a PIN transaction to drain.

Probably the easiest way to liquidate would be order an amazon e-giftcard for the $10.65. Could also CA at a bank for the full amount. Don't worry about MVD fees when in spend down mode, as long as you get it all in one transaction.

Unless you're just trolling, why not post them? The long thread suggests MVD is hardly a secret. I would think those cranking away on MVD have far more to lose if large numbers of people are getting shut down, because that will lead to more tightening. It's in everyone's interest for people to stay under the limits. I think the AP thread and experience is a pretty good guide.

tech2011 Feb 27, 2014 10:59 pm

MVD system is behaving very funny. My transaction for 2k yesterday rejected and tuesday but passed today. I did ca on sat 2.5k and debit transaction 2.5k on monday.
