Same card?

Yeah, same card, I only have one. I think the secret is leaving a small amount on your card after the 48 hr notice. I always leave the extra .05 from the cash advance fee on the card. They probably don't want to send a check for a nickel.

Nice intel. Thanks
My first card went into Monitored status and i was given 48 hrs.
I never used it after that but i noticed that the account was still open and showing ACTIVe instead of monitored ever since. 2 months later the account was eventually closed due to none usage i assume. Good to know we can still use them after the 48.

The key is to call up and play dumb. I'm sure the CSR are rereading the same notes compliance put on my account months ago, they don't realize I've already been through the routine.

But eventually they suspended your account? Did they mail you a check?

No, it's still active.

This is awesome, I made the mistake of truly emptying the account and it was instantly closed before the 48hr clock expired.

Next time (if I can get a 3rd card) I'll be more cunning. thanks.

Did you change your usage pattern at all after each closure?

I know a lot of people have been shutdown recently. I plan to do under 5k and just cash out using MOs at WM. Would that risk a shutdown?

TTnC4me Aug 5, 2013 12:07 am

Yes. Almost everything does at this point.

No, not really at all.

That was sort of my pattern and I just got shut down last week.
Suggestions based on my discussion with the surprisingly nice CSR:

1. Keep WM purchases "not huge" - I guess that would be < 1000, but I don't know what they threshold is.
2. Don't immediately load/unload - Let the funds simmer. I was previously waiting a week or so and screwed up last week by forgetting.

prasha11 Aug 5, 2013 11:22 am

There is no rime or reason for shut down.

jonnyd13 Aug 5, 2013 11:44 am

My dog ate my card. Will I be shut down?
