Now my temp cards can no longer be registered online, was told by CSR they had to be registered as CC, not debit, as I have several (read many many) other temp cards that never registered as perm card. No more CA :td:

The cards are registered with my zip code, so possible usable with AP.

Maybe still workable with diff SSN.

Trying to Play it Safe

As I detailed in this thread, my three MVD card accounts were recently closed by Incomm and I've received my refund check. My wife's three card accounts, which have been used sparsely, are open, and I'd like to try to abide by Incomm's unwritten rules to earn credit card rebates via VRs while maintaining a pattern of card use that is acceptable to Incomm. Could some of you who have not experienced account closures be kind enough to PM me your loading, spending, and CA patterns (how much and how often per month with how many cards), so I may try to win my way back into Incomm's good graces :)

I would very much appreciate your help.

I know this will be boring advice, but use VRs and MVD for actual expenses and you will be just fine.

It seems that, so far, only folks who do CAs are getting in hot water.

At this point, I don't think anyone can tell you what "acceptable usage" is to Incomm.

We'll need some guinea pigs. I guess I'll be one of them. If you get your money back fairly easily, what's the downside?

The only thing I'm not willing to do is "park" cash on the card for days.

Not sure you always have a choice in that. I'm several weeks in.

It's so disingenuous of them to ask for SSN and DL when they do nothing with it. There seems to be no indication that they'll reopen the account. But I guess they're playing their version of the same game from their side of the table.

My card was shut down this morning by compliance. They reactivated it for 48 hours so I can make a cash advance to withdraw the balance after I called in about it.

Can vanilla reloads be deposited anywhere else, besides BlueBird and My Vanilla Debit cards?

VR can be used with the amex prepaid.

True, but the fees (if doing small everyday expenses) can add up quickly and deplete your purpose.

As another data point. My MVD card status is 'blocked'. I only have a single card and used it *almost* exclusively for CAs. Whoops!

Fortunately, they weren't so quick to figure out the dollar coin mechanism. ;)

according to FBI definition, it is not larceny.
if someone put some money in your pocket, you probably can spend it.

I personally got extra $500 when I tried to load moneypak into amex prepaid a while ago.

the right thing to do is "don't ask, don't tell".

if they realize it and take it back, fine. if not, keep it.

Er, no, the right thing to do is call them and tell them. Forget moral judgments; if they ever follow up, you want to be able to show them that you tried to alert them.

well jeepers, i guess the people who know what they are doing who warned for quite awhile that cash advances would get this thing nuked were indeed right. Amazing isnt it?

Liquidated mine completely out today, good chunk of change back to me. Still have 24 hours of my account being open, tempted to go get $5k worth of VR's, load them today and tomorrow and then cash out quick one last time. Too much? :p

not too much! Done more than that. By the way, what happened to the manufactured spending forum??

I was tempted too - I think someone earlier reported that deposits don't work anymore. Our only choice is to withdraw at this point.
