Also anyone hear of the mango prepaid card??

Avoid Mango. Massive fees - especially bad for churners who are likely to get shut down.

$35 research fee "per incident" for "suspicious" activity. $35 fee to close account for "suspicious" activity. $5 Monthly fee. $10 account closure fee. $2 ATM. Probably the worst card I've seen. You'd have to be desperate to want that POS.

I don't understand something...If MVD is a DEBIT card, and some banks accept debit cards as payment, why can't I just pay off my credit card by calling the bank and giving them my MVD number like I would any other debit card?

Thanks

Careful with Citi. If you ask for a "cash advance" at a Citi branch, it processes OK, but then you get a error on your card balance. Basically, it shows you as having a negative balance on your MVD for the amount of the cash advance.

I guess you could call MVD and ask them to straighten it out, but you probably won't want to. So Citi is basically a card killer if you do a CA.

Not sure about doing some sort of direct debit card thing. If anyone tries it and it works, let us know.

Don't get me wrong: I don't think this would result in any sort of prosecution...I just wonder if it will result in some investigations. I mean, think about it: you are an IRS dude, you don't know nor care from points and miles. All you see is that a guy who earned $65k deposited $100k in cash into his bank account in one year. Wouldn't you be like, hello there, Al Capone/meth dealer!

If your wife makes 200k you should be ok otherwise I wouldn't deposit anywhere near a yearly annual income in cash

I am wondering, now that the website is up and running again, if any of you who were on hold...magically your account became active again? Anyone, anyone?
