It's also causing transactions to be declined, not even CA transactions, just normal spend.

As if I didn't have waning faith in Incomm already . . .
But I'll still use their products. That's for sure. |

Yikes! So has anyone tried to buy a vanilla this morning? i wonder if they can even be activated...
Haven't tried to load, though. |
Just loaded 2 beans ok trough vanillareaload.com, however MVD site isn't coming up. YMMV still.
|
I bought six today and all *say* activated.
|
Was everyone who got shut down doing CAs or were people banned for buying MOs as well? I only got the card recently but I figured just doing MOs would be under the radar. Anyone got any data points to back this up? I'm ok so far but haven't done very much yet, I'll report back if and when my account is closed.

Exactly how are you seeing that your cards are still activated when you can't even get into their website?

Oh ok! I was thinking active like your card status since there are so many cards being shut down.

I was planning on doing a ~$2500 CA this morning. After all the reports of shut downs, I've lately been trying to do at least 5 or 6 regular spend transactions before I do a CA, in an effort to make the optics look good.
However this morning, I was about to do my last "optics" regular spend when the card got declined. Ran it again, and got declined again. I figured the cardinals finally found me, and was p*ssed that they wait until you get a big load on the card before they shut you down, instead of shutting you down right AFTER a CA, when you've got your money back out. Anyway, I get home and go to log on to verify my presumed "inactive" status, but I can't get the web site to load. So I went on with my day, and this afternoon and evening have been able to put 2 more regular spend transactions through. Still can't log on to the web site, though. So....at least I'm not shut down. And these are my data points FWIW as well. Sounds like some other people had transactions declined today as well, but I guess they got that fixed. Funny how their priority is to FIRST fix the software to allow the spend and the associated fees, and then I guess later they'll get around to fixing the glitch that is preventing us from logging on to our accounts on the web. |
I can't even get the myvanilladebitcard.com website to load right now (11 pm EDT). Glad I didn't have any activity on my card today. I would think they might lose some "core" business operating like this.

I'm just glad that it doesn't really mean that my account was shut down!

Is there any obvious problem with just withdrawing everything via ATM or getting it back in the form of cash back. Is this less likely to cause me problems??
Also anyone hear of the mango prepaid card?? |

Cash back might be okay, but they know you are getting it because they charge $1.95 instead of $0.50 transaction fee if you do, and the amount you can get per transaction is limited by the retailer so it's not a very good deal. I think the best way to use this is to buy MOs, but even that may not be safe. |
