Same here. I emptied my account within 48 hours of being told I was going to be shut down, but it is still active 96 hours later.

All my family members had several hundred dollars or more in the accounts when they did CA's.
I did the loading for some of them and made sure they never drained accounts and just told them how much to withdraw so that wasn't it. I can only assume it was lack of regular spend on the cards since the amounts spend were mostly small BS purchases just to have something there.

I am having them all file with the FDIC now and see how that works.
The mvd bank should get an ear full in those AG and BBB complaints though since I have a couple aunts who are teachers and only work a few hours a day so they probably made the complaints many pages on the school districts dime LOL. Now if they upset the church ladies in the hotdish group they would be in real trouble cuz those ladies would march on the bank.

What is the value of leaving some money on the card for possible fees when you do the cash advance? Does it really matter if you have a negative balance? I haven't heard of anyone being shut down for a negative balance -- only for doing the cash advances and money orders.

negative balances on any sort of account are going to get noticed. There's nothing to gain by trying to screw someone out of a $1 or 2 in fees.

Play nice, and it'll live that much longer.

You're earning hundreds or thousands of point/dollars, leave the few bucks in there to cover fees instead of taking that too.

Yeah, but it's hard to know if they're going to collect fees. It's been months since they've done so. There seem to be some reports that it's starting again. I guess we'll see.

A neighbor of my aunts who is a teacher and feels she is being robbed somehow has really went over the top. It really makes me mad when I look at my property tax statement and see over $3k of it goes to the school district for her to come in just before 9am and be gone by 3pm for an average of less than 4 days per week with the whole summer off with pay making 80k plus benefits now she has taken all her info on MVD and my Aunt told me she not only sent it to the BBB and AG's office but to 5 TV station and several newspaper investigative departments for those expose's shows.

Crazy woman would go on TV if they let her. I don't see why these people don't realize tieing up 10k or less is just part of the game. I think she is talking small claims court too.

Background info to show how much time some people have to complain and she feels robbed because her money is ON HOLD and not available to her the no definite end in sight. I think she is nuts but I offer the data anyway
