Yes, after you call in, they unlock your card and says "active" again. They say you have 48 hours to unload once it's active again. I immediately did a CA (and the rotten scoundrels finally charged me $1.95 fee - my first:rolleyes:).

But I also started loading the card again. Have $5K on it and will load another $2500 tonight and then hit the bank first thing before the 48 hours are up. And if it's still open for whatever reason, I'll continue loading. Worst thing that can happen is they finally close the account and take up to 3 weeks to cut me a check.

Sorry for a newbie question but I'm pretty new to this VR & MyVanilla game. I just bought 2 MVD cards @ local CVS and registered for permanent cards. My local CVS also has VR cards. The game is to buy VR cards (max 500 each) and load into MVD and then CA @ bank? If so, what is the daily limit for VR (500 max @ CVS?) and MVD (2500 daily deposit?) ? I don't quite see this game as a better method than Visa GCs @ Staples for my Ink card because I can get 5x$200 Visa GCs ($35 fee) = 5000 URs vs $5000 VRs ($40 fee) and it triggers less attention for $1k purchase than $5k purchase. Any advices?

Yeah, get a different CC for VR.

I had never done CA. I only did USPS MO for a couple of months. and suddenly got the `monitored` status, and called in got the same answer.
So I loaded the cards, and did two CAs of 3000 & 2500.

Now my card says "on hold". I can still load, but I suspect it will never see "active" again.

Actually, one was put on hold with $7 like a month ago. I never called on it. I think I'll call about it, try to get it active for 48 hours, load it to $5K and remove the funds.

This game is slowly dying for me.

Has any other multi-MVD cardholder had only one of their cards closed for not-the-intended use while the other one or two cards remained open? And is anyone successfully using more than one card on the same account?

Right now I have 2 MVDs - one is open and "active" and one is "monitored". From reading this, I suppose I'll call and take the 48 hour window to get some charges on it, and then focus on the other card until i get shut down.

Load up your card to the max BEFORE you call in and get the "monitor" situation cleared up. I just finished putting $95xx.xx on the card and called in and got the 48 hr "active" on my 2nd card that was "monitored". Will head to the bank and do one final CA for the entire amount - they'll have to come after me for the $1.95 fee:D

I also tried loading a card that said "on hold" and it worked. A few hours later they had locked out my account and I could no longer log in, so I guess the account has been closed for good. It appears the card will work for CA so long as it says "active".

Really? You're going to try and get out of paying the $2 you legitimately owe them?

Not paying the fee would potentially involve more time with Incomm, time that does not earn miles. Pay the fee and be done.

bobfather Apr 22, 2013 7:28 am

I'm going to posit right now that account closures are related to fee "violations". Either not leaving enough money in the MVD account to debit the fee, or allowing your balance to go negative at any time for fee assessment.
