hmm btw, Did you register your card? i think to be able to use the temp card you still need to register the card. you can close the last step or 2 steps prior finishing. It have been a while for me so i vaguely remember it. I could be wrong on this as well.

WM No Longer Accepting Prepaid DC for MOs
 

The last 5 times I've attempted to use my MVD at WM to purchase MOs it comes back with an error "Alternate Form of Payment Required". I received this about a month ago and it went away. However now it comes up every time I attempt the purchase of MOs. I have well over the purchase amount in the account. The MVD card works everywhere else I use it.

Just wondering if its my MVD account or is this a mass change at WM.

It is probably your MVD account. You need to check MVD thread for more info about shutdowns, terrorist activities, money laundering, etc.
Have you tried using other DCs in this WM to make sure that it is not cashier pushing the wrong buttons?

I've tried two different WM in the area.

What's odd is that I can use this MVD at other stores for Groceries and Home Improvement.

You could also be just over the allowed debit limit then, which is discussed in the MVD thread, assuming that your other payments have been small.

They have been small. My MO purchases have been in the range of 1000 to 2000.

Is the limit your are referring to a monthly one with MVD?

If the monthly limit is by calendar month, why would the annual limit most likely be a rolling limit?

No WM hasnt killed being able to use DCs. As others have said MVD is the source.

The limits are $5k per day/ $8k per week/ $10k per month / $45k per yr. If you breech any of those you must wait till the time span has passed that opens your card to use again.Also you must include the fees they charge so if you did say $6k so far this week you have less then another $2k to go So if you are getting say 2 @ $1k at Wally in 1 transaction then its not $2000 that you used up but $2001.90 over 3 days thats $6005.70 thusly you cant get another $2k since that would put you over the weekly limit of $8k. the max you can still get is $1992.40 same applys to the daily max and monthly and yearly

I ran into what you have back in Aug at a # of Wallys in a few different States, I assumed my card was closed, it wasnt so I fired all the topedos thinking its only a matter of time till Im dead. Turns out in hindsight I didnt know aboutthe max limits and thats where I ran into trouble, its only when I went real nuts CAing taht they shut it down

Did you get cashback and then make a MO or did you pay for your MO directly with the MVD (never asking for or receiving cashback)?

By mistake twice my finger hit the $60 button and not the NO button, which on the colored keypads is right above the red 'No', both times MVD charged me only $.50

For anyone who was shut down and given the 48 hour reprieve, did your account status immediately return to 'active' following the call? I was given the 48 hour spiel but my card is still showing 'inactive' online.

Is there a limit how much I can use for CA on the card at the bank?
